Chap 8:
Jerome's heart aches as Aurora spits out those words clearly from anger and hurt. He steps forward to give her a hand to help her but Aurora recoils, her tears staining her cheeks as she pushes him away.
“I’m trying to help you.” He explains himself but Aurora moves away from him further.
“It’s obvious that she doesn’t want to leave here. She belongs here.” Ivy cuts in. “Leave the w***e alone, Jerome.”
Jerome's anger towards Ivy intensifies. "Enough, Ivy! Stop with your choice of words.” He demands, his voice shaking with emotion.
Ivy sneers, her voice dripping with disdain. "I’m not doing anything. You're making a scene over nothing."
Jerome's resolve hardens.
He looks at the guards that are present and back at Aurora who was huddled in a corner in the cell.
