“I don’t know about this,” David said with a tone uncertainty, standing fifteen feet from the black and red shell over the house. Lee was standing beside him, bony arms crossed, with Miley standing far enough back that she couldn’t hear what the two were talking about. Lee had said she should back up for safety, and then proposed what sounded like a ludicrous idea to the young Witch. “I’m telling you that you can do it. She’s growing desperate, pulling energy from the Book to fuel her spells,” Lee explained. “Eventually the Book will stop loaning her power and start draining her as a form of payback.” “But the idea of overloading her protections seems a little… dangerous.” David said. “It’s easy. You know how you drained the energy from the skeletons? Well you basically do the opposite.
