Razaar’s entry into the hybrid community the next day was dramatic, to say the least. So dramatic, that Eliana almost hurled her guts out at how dramatic it had been. For starters, the benign Eiva had waited right by the gates, and of course Eliana, being the leader, was forced to follow. It was at the gate that she was imposed to witness Eiva run into the arms of an ecstatic looking Razaar, who simply picked her up and twirled her around in the air. To Eliana it was like watching a romance movie, and she hated romance, for obvious reasons. Razaar had thrown her a smirk as he did so that she had chosen to ignore, before they proceeded to walk back to the office, where the three entered Eliana’s professional space.
‘Welcome back Alpha Solonov, I hope you’ll be comfortable in your cottage for the duration of your stay. Please let me know if there is anything either of you require.’ She forced herself to say. It hadn’t gone unnoticed by her the change in Eiva’s attitude as soon as Razaar stepped through the gates. It was as if Eiva enjoyed living in a cage, a cage whose bars were Razaar, the only thing keeping Eiva away from freedom. It was an ironic concept since it was Razaar keeping the stability in his dear proclaimed mate’s life. However it was a constraint that Eiva was very much aware of and refused to seek an escape from. The woman was more than capable of building her own life on her own without Razaar, but she simply was not strong enough to face the hardships that came with it along the way. She had known that all she had to do was make one move, but Eiva had gotten used to her comfort zone, even though it wasn’t as comfortable, and she wasn’t willing to give it up now, purely out of fear.
‘Thank you Miss Genova. You’ve been extremely kind.’ Razaar responded, his mind blocked mainly by the events happening back in his pack lands. It had been a month since either of the enemies had commenced an attack, for the strategies were yet to be perfected. But Razaar had it all planned, they were to attack the very minute he returned to his own pack lands, but of course he wouldn’t barge into battle without some extra time with his mate. Despite thinking in his head that he had returned to spend time with Eiva, his heart had denied the information, and knew that he had returned to drop eyes on the stunning beauty that was his true mate. A mate that he was oh so desperate to have. He most certainly had an unconscious plan in his mind to win her back, but that plan mostly consisted of making her jealous by sticking himself like glue onto his proclaimed mate, however absurd of a plan it was. He was determined to get a reaction out of the woman, and throughout this whole process, the vile man was willing to use his proclaimed mate as bait. It was an act that Eliana could see right through, that made her pity the delicate Eiva even more than she had.
Eliana despised the man, he was the reason she hated mankind, and was determined to stay away from any permanent partner at all. The leader was more than content with having multiple nightly companions, and that was just about as far as she was willing to get when it came to the topic of love.
‘Of course Alpha. Enjoy your stay.’ She finished, desperate for the couple to take their leave so she wouldn’t have to spend another minute in the presence of the fool of her mate.
‘Miss Genova, I was hoping you would join Razaar and I for dinner tonight at our cottage. I would love to cook us all something so we can catch up over a meal. It’s also a way to say thank you for all that you’ve done for us’ Eiva gently spoke, holding Razaar back who had already begun turning his head to leave. Part of Eliana hated Eiva for stopping and asking, for she most certainly did not want to go. The other half, the bigger half, pitied the woman way too much to simply abandon the request. The naive woman looked pleadingly at the leader, and Eliana was left with no choice but to put her problems aside for one night.
‘Of course. I’ll be there’ she reluctantly enforced the words out of her mouth, watching Eiva gleam with pride as she grabbed onto her partners hand before leaving the office.
As soon as she had heard them leave she groaned to herself, feeling a desperate need to escape her situation. How was she supposed to sit through an entire meal with the big headed Alpha that was, for some reason, so full of himself? It was him that rejected her and yet he continued throwing smirks at the woman as if it were the other way round. The truth was that while Eliana had simply ignored every word the man uttered, her limits were severely being tested, and the line was being approached. She knew that sooner or later s**t would go down, and the truth would come bubbling out if he kept getting on her nerves. After all, she had been gracious enough to let him and his proclaimed mate, that he had the audacity to bring, into her home and had granted them shelter for as long as they needed. How ungrateful was it for the Alpha to keep stumbling into her territory and then behave in a manner of disrespect with her? Who did he think he was?
That night Eliana had forced herself to calm down, walking out of the office she had been tackling paperwork in for the last hours completely knackered, and ready to lay down on her bed and drift off into deep slumber. Alas, fate had not allowed her to do so, and so as soon as she arrived at her cottage, she had jumped into the shower, washing aways some of her worries of the day. She then dressed down from her work clothes, into clothes that were simple, yet elegant, and walked out of her cottage, into the direction of the one that the thick headed Alpha was in. She hesitated to knock as the doors neared her vision, but soon enough, she took a deep breath and proceeded with the action before her mind would convince her otherwise.
As the door flung open, she was surprised to see Demillo on the other side of it. Her face took a 360 turn at this, and suddenly felt uplifted and ready to conquer the meal that lay ahead. How had she not thought of this before? Demillo lived in the same cottage as the couple, so of course he would be a part of the meal that Eiva had so generously prepared.
‘Demillo, it’s good to see you. How are you doing?’ she questioned as he let her in. He too, had been excited at her arrival, for over the past couple of days he hadn’t managed to spend as much time with her as he had wished to. Over the month the two had gotten closer than ever, as friends of course. Though he was a friend that Eliana was grateful to have in her life, for he was a breath of fresh air from the other men in her life who had all treated her like dirt, Syllia excluded.
The tone of excitement in their chit chat became apparent to Razaar as he approached the two with his proclaimed mate by his side. He had completely forgotten the liking his third had taken onto his mate, though his jealousy was yet to tone down on the matter. The four of them greeted each other with respect, before Eiva led the group down to the dining table where she had nearly laid out the food she had prepared.
The tension in the air began rising as the brave Demillo took a seat right next to the true mate of the Alpha, a bit too close for his liking, and shared a smile with her before he decided to break the tension and turn her attention to him.
‘Tell me Miss Genova, how has life been in my absence. I hope Eiva hasn’t been much trouble around,’ the man commented, not only making Eiva slightly uncomfortable, but Demillo and Eliana too. The woman was amazed at his words, for she knew that poor Eiva would simply take the words, but how dare he even ask such a thing, especially in her presence. Demillo had decided to remain silent for he knew any word from him could have been fatal in that very moment. Having had enough bullshit, the leader decided to take the stance for his proclaimed mate, that at that moment she was incapable of taking.
‘Miss Matouk has been a pleasure of an addition to the hybrids. I would say she does a better job at running things and organising than you do Alpha. She has been very helpful at the hybrid school this past month. To answer your question, she has been no trouble at all’ but you certainly are, she wanted to say so badly, but in the meantime she settled with looking at the bewildered expression on the Alpha’s face, who had most certainly not been expecting a response of that extent. Eiva, on the other hand, sat in pride at the mere comment of the leader, and despite the slight disrespect towards her partner, couldn’t bring herself to comment against her kind words. Demillo, who stood on the sidelines of this conversation, a mere witness, sat with a smirk on his face that he hid as he focused his gaze on his arms below him, not wanting to get murdered by his Alpha that night.
For the first time in his life, Razaar found himself at a loss of words, stuttering to get a proper sentence out of his mouth. ‘T-that's great to hear indeed’ he began, his temper rising at her lack of respect towards him. In his eyes he was a strong intimidating Alpha that was to be treated with the utmost respect, a quality that his mate was not giving him. Then again, it wasn’t like he was being respectful towards her to begin with, but it was something that Razaar had turned a bilnd eye on. For Razaar this couldn’t be the final word, for that would be a very disappointing embarrassment. ‘Have my men been doing their duty well to protect your community?’ he then asked, trying to imply that his kind were clearly a lot more superior. It was an implication that to Eliana, was simply the response of a vengeful child. She laughed, mostly to herself as she prepared her response for delivery.
‘Of course Alpha, my guards have brought them up to speed with what they need to do so I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you’ she retorted, firing up another wave of anger within the great Razaar Solonov.
All the while, Eiva and Demillo observed from the exterior, picking up on the subtle hints of hate and anger, an aspect that seemed to confuse both of Razaar’s pack members more. Why did they hate each other? They were both respected leaders, then why weren’t they acting like it?
Before Razaar could retaliate at the words of his true mate, Eiva placed a hand on his arm, doing very little to calm him down. ‘Razaar love, the food is going to cool down, shall we eat? Please Eliana, help yourself to anything on the table.’ She offered politely, pointing briefly at the food in front of her.
Eliana beamed, feeling pride consume her at her response as she began to serve herself the food that Eiva had referred to. There was a scant moment of food being served before the leader reopened her smart mouth. ‘Tell me Alpha, how are your plans of revenge going against the Lycan Alpha? Has there been any progress on the status of your revenge?’ asked Eliana, a clear mock indicated in her words. By now Razaar had reached his limit, for his mate had crossed the line that Razaar had called his level of patience, and was ready to pin his mate by the wall if that was what it took to extract the disrespect out of her. The poor man, was however, forgetting the position of his mate in the community, and had allowed it to slip through his mind for a brief minute, that she was in fact, a leader herself. A strong one at that too.
The hateful man could therefore not stop himself when a loud growl emanated from his chest, alarming everyone present in the room, aside from his smirking mate of course. She simply hid her smirk, before putting up a facade of her own.
‘I’m sorry Alpha, have I said anything to offend you? I assure you that those were most certainly my intentions, I apologise for any misconceptions I may have placed in your head’ she finished, obviously winning the final round. She then faced a panicked Eiva, a girl who had no clue what to do whatsoever. Was she to calm down her significant other and remain on his side, or apologise to the woman who for the past month had been a great host and friend? ‘Forgive me Miss Matouk, but I think it’s best if I leave for now. I think Alpha Solonov has had a long journey and perhaps it would be best we took a raincheck for this dinner. I do apologise for leaving so abruptly, but thank you very much once again for the food. It has been lovely’ spoke the leader, with authority in her voice that Eiva could only wish to have one day. The disoriented woman could only watch as Eliana elevated from the seat with grace and poise, and made her way out of the cottage.
But the game hadn’t been over for Razaar, as in the next minute, he watched as Demilo mirrored her actions and chased her out the cottage with a rush. He had caught on to the game his mate had been playing, and the fact that she played it better than him bothered him the most. He was set on being on top, and so he would make himself be.
For the time being, the raging Alpha found himself facing a very confused Eiva, who looked at her partner in disbelief.
‘What was that Razaar? Why would you be so disrespectful to a woman who has done so much for us? What is all this hate about? Last I checked we were all on good terms’ the poor woman commented, with a tone of calamity despite her inner desire to yell and rage.
Razaar found himself annoyed at the woman’s interrogation, for he did not need to answer to anybody, or be questioned by anybody.
‘She was disrespectful to me. Nobody is allowed to be disrespectful to me, you hear that?’ he spat, causing Eiva to take a step back at his usual hateful attitude.
‘That’s not fair Razaar. She only responded back to what you had so rudely asked her. Why all of this sudden hate for Miss Genova, what’s wrong love?’ appealed Eiva, trying her best to provide her mate with the comfort that unfortunately only his true mate could give him. By now Razaar had commenced feeling agitated at having to explain himself to Eiva, so he found himself turning away to exit the conversation as he pleased.
Throughout the month, however, Eiva had managed to pick up a thing or two about independence and self respect, and so she surprised herself when she pulled Razaar back by the arm and stared at him expectantly, waiting for the answer she deserved. The act had stunned Razaar, it was the first time Eiva had even remotely done anything that went against the Alpha. The astonishment had been enough to calm down the anger that in that moment would have erupted had it been anyone else. Instead, Mr Solonov found himself giving the brave woman an answer to her prior question.
‘I don’t know what happened ok? I guess the woman is right, I’m tired and I think that’s what has caused me to act out. I’m going to bed’ he declared, successfully taking his leave after his response had been delivered. Eiva had been satisfied with that much, and so she walked back to the dining room to clear out the food, before returning to the chambers to lie with her significant other.
Razaar, however, had been absent from his bed, for he was taking the longest shower of his life. His clenched fists remained firmly on the wall as he allowed the water to trickle down his back. The thoughts of the dinner flashed back into his mind, causing within him, a frustration that he could not explain. The truth was that Razaar had been more turned on at his mate’s remarks than angry, but it was certainly not an emotion he had let slip throughout the dinner, and especially not in front of his proclaimed mate and Demillo. The mere mention of the Omega’s name in his mind made his blood boil. He had witnessed the man rush after his mate outside, and wished nothing more than to throw his body across all Zalon. He felt a certain possessiveness over Eliana, one he had never felt for Eiva, and felt now, more than ever, a desperate need to be around her, and have her. For the time being, the frustrated Alpha exited the shower, making his way to find his third after dressing into his nightwear.
By now Demillo had returned from his short conversation with Eliana, that he had conducted simply to make sure she was alright. The Omega had known how infuriating of a personality Razaar could have, but the thought of him blatantly attempting to disrespect the leader of the hybrids had shocked him as much as it had Eiva. He too, had wondered what was going through the head of his egoistic boss, but preferred checking in with his friend than facing the big, bad Alpha himself. At his concern, Eliana had smiled and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder assuring him that she was fine and appreciated his concern. He had wished to accompany the beautiful woman back to her cottage, but the leader had politely declined the offer and had decided to walk it home by herself, needing the space to breathe out her frustrations.
When he returned however, he was backed into the room by a glaring Alpha, that had forced himself into the chambers of his Omega.
‘I didn’t send you here to bed the leader of the hybrids. I sent you here to keep your Luna safe, and you seem to be doing a pretty s**t job at it. So I suggest you stay away from Eliana and do as you’re told or you might just end up without a position in my pack. Do I make myself clear?’ the Alpha had insolently muttered.
‘Crystal’ the third responded abruptly, nodding silently as he watched a raging Razaar storm out of his room.
Eliana had known that there was no way for her and her mate to work out, even as friends and allies, but she certainly hadn’t expected his blunt remarks and insinuations, and she most certainly didn't appreciate them. The matter that confused her the most was that of what he wished to achieve, for he seemed like he didn’t have a particular goal in mind. For Eliana there was no way of realising that the Alpha was mad for her, as his continuous way of pushing her buttons was ridding the apparency of his intentions. Instead, she was left with an even more stressful mind and no energy to spare in her system to deal with these futile interactions with her mate. How she was to survive the rest of her week with an impertinent Alpha on her case was beyond her, for the time being Eliana found herself returning to her cottage with a severe need to unwind her tensions one way or another. And so, she had arranged for one of her nightly companions to join her that night, an act that Razaar was completely oblivious of, and for the rest of the night, she let the comfort of another man become her shelter.
The night had passed like a blur, and morning had come sooner than expected, and so, Eliana rose from her bed, sighing at the thought of having to get through another day with her unwanted mate on the grounds she walked on.
How ever was Eliana going to get through the week? Who knew?
