"What's going on?" Johnny asked, his voice trembling.

"We heard someone outside," Sarah whispered, her eyes wide with fear.

Suddenly, they heard a crash from the living room. Johnny's heart pounded as he realized that the intruder was inside the house.

"Stay here," he said, his voice firm. "I'll handle this."

With a sense of determination, Johnny crept into the living room, ready to confront whoever was there. But as he rounded the corner, he came face to face with the shadowy figure he had feared the most.
