CHAPTER 2

Windows adorned with lavish curtains billowed in the gentle evening breeze as the opulent chandelier overhead cast a warm, golden glow across the ballroom. Rosalyn Stewart stood at the center of the room, her emerald-green gown sparkling under the soft light. The soft murmurs of the guests and the symphony's elegant strains filled the air, creating an atmosphere of enchantment as she twirled gracefully, a smile playing on her lips. Tonight was her 20th birthday, a night meant for celebration and joy, surrounded by her closest friends, Ria and Avery, who stood by her side, beaming with happiness.

ROSALYN

Days passed by quickly, and it's my birthday today. I am so excited. My friends won't stop talking and throwing stuff at themselves. Jason called this morning saying he might not come to my birthday today. According to him ,his dad sent him on an errand to Las Vegas.

"Babes, I am coming. I want to use the restroom," Ria said and excused herself

“ Come on, cupcake, smile for me” Avery said

“avie am so shy we're did you get this crowd from I wasn't exthis much crowd”

“oh come on, they are from our school ... Chill, okay, they don't bite ” she said, and we laughed

“were is Aunt ophelia?”

“she left this morning because I told her I am not going to celebrate it much ”

“oh so you made the cake yourself?”

“ Yes, I did”

“ she helped me to cook and restock the drinks” I told her and sighed

“ oh avie am so tired ”

“oh cupcake, not today. Calm down ” she said

“ I know but am suffocating,”

“ You look so beautiful. Do you want to spoil your fine face with wrinkles ” she said, eyeing me

“Okay fine you got me…. I can't wait for this whole s**t to finish. I need my beauty sleep” I said, making a baby face

“ Don't start” she said and walked away

ARIANNA

I was still walking when my phone sound distracted me ,I looked at the caller ID and smiled

“hey old lady”

“Ann where are you.. you need to come back home” she said worriedly

“ Oldie, calm down. What is it ”

“ Your brother is at it again. I just got the information you need to come home right away. Don't ta—”

“s**t ” I hanged up before she could finish well am Arianna the only family I have is my brother only I can stop his madness that's why my aunt called me to come home I don't joke with my brother he's all have got I took the back door and enter my car driving like I own the road

After 30 minutes I was stock in traffic I have this feeling that someone is watching me so I looked at of my window and behold a guy was looking at me with a dark glass shade without being told I know what to do

I took the other route and was surprised to see 3 more cars coming my way. Wait, is that what my aunt wanted to tell me s**t I messed up

I quickly put on the tracker my brother gave me and was calling him but he wasn't answering I called my aunt she wasn't answering what the f**k is going on

How am I supposed to escape this now… humph I can do this I stopped and they all came down blocking my way with a gun I know this is gonna be risky but I have to try.

I took out a tear gas and throw it at them with that I came and ran off holding the tracker and my cell phone

“pick up bro” I grunted lowly

“ hey come out little b***h I know you can hear me and if you make me stressed myself and I later found you I promise you won't like the outcome ” he said laughing like a maniac

“let's see how your brother will react with this little game of ours” he said and started laughing clapping his hands

“ search every f*****g corner and leave no stone unturned ” he order his men

“ yes consig”

Wait did they just say consig, from which clan what connection did we have with them did my brother offend him, just then I heard a familiar voice

“ find her?” the voice asked

“No boss” the consig of a guy said said

“ she can't go far she around here don't stop until u get her” the voice said am I over hearing things or what I know that voice and am not mistaking

“ am leaving find her and bring her to me gotta go now” he said and left

I put my phone on recording and I kept the tracker under a dried leave incase they find me my brother can come to this place then I drew our sign on a wood nearby I was about to stand up when something fell to the ground

A recorder wow it's small so I hid it under my bra just incase am caught

Luckily my brother's friend pick up at last

“hello miss any problem he—”

“ please find me ,help me” I said

“miss are you oka—”

“check the tracker now” I yelled before I could even stop myself and I heard a grin behind me s**t they caught me

“ got you at last runaway ” he said with a smirk he collected the phone and started laughing

“ such a smart kid we got here …umm” He said

I heard my brother friend saying something “ don't you dare lay a finger on her else we will find you” he said

“okay let's play the real game then” the man said and smashed the phone

“Who are you” I asked him

“oh kitty you scared?… oh no sister of the almighty is suddenly scared ” he said and they all started laughing

“what do you want ”

“something your brother is holding ”

“ wanna know?”

“You will know very soon when our boss sees you” he said and grabbed my arm it's pointless to struggle at this moment so I gave in and follow them without uttering a single word
