More arguing and yelling. He couldn’t understand but several phrases teased at recognition. He heard what apparently were names repeated: “Mylia,” and “Sabal.” Then, a gunshot! He crouched, stayed hidden in the leaves. “Geh ooh!” Ranglen jumped. The command came from beside him. The braided woman stood only two meters away and had snapped the two words at him. He never heard her approach. She aimed her short-barreled rifle at his head. It had a small magazine, a wooden stock and no hand-grip, like an ancient WWII carbine. “Geh ooh!” she repeated, pointed the rifle upward. He stood, raised his hands, showed they were empty. “Ai oot a oojine!” She pointed at his pistol holster and opened her hand. “Ai oot! Ai oot!” He assumed she meant for him to remove the gun and give it to her,
