THIRD PERSON'S POV
'What a weird lady.' Froilan thought to himself after he went outside the room 106. Suddenly, an image of Detective Kaorie flashed into his mind. Unintentionally, his upper lips rose up forming a small smile.
"I can't wait to see you again, Ms. Detective." He uttered as he began walking towards his office.
A group of girls giggled when they saw him walking near them. They greeted him 'Good morning, Prof' and with his serious face, he just nodded his head. He doesn't have time to acknowledge their presence.
As soon as he went inside, he brewed himself a cup of coffee then sat on his swivel chair.
He grab the telephone on his table and dialled Head Officer Wits hotline.
"Hello, Good morning. This is from the office of Mr. Wits, Lionel Ruchè speaking, how may I help you?" 'I think she's his secretary', he suddenly thought to himself
"Too formal. Can I talk to Officer Wits?" He asked
"He's currently busy today—
"I wanna talk to him right now. Call your boss and tell him that Mr. Arithmeticùs is on the line." He commanded
"Please wait for a moment Sir." The girl said in a low voice.
He waited for more than 10 seconds. He was about to hang up the call when he heard a man's voice on the line.
"What do you need?" He can't help but to chuckle after hearing what the Head Officer said.
"How rude of you, Mr. Wits." He's now imagining how annoyed Mr. Wits' face is.
"I'm busy. Can I end this call now?—"
"Wait! Uhm—about Detective—uh" he did not finish what he was about to say for some unknown reason.
"About Detective Kaorie. Am I right, Mr. Arithmeticùs?" The man asked him.
"Y-yes." He nervously replied. f**k! Why the did hell did he stuttered?
"Oh, that hard-headed woman. Tsk! Well, she refused to go for that mission. But still, I send Detective Calderon on your school as one of the Professor. Is he already there? Ooopps my bad. He always comes late, what do I expect." All of a sudden, he remembered the girl earlier.
Her blonde messy curly hair, round thick eyeglass, her braces and oh her below-the-knee skirt. She's completely an old-fashioned lady. A nerdy Maria Clara. He laughed at that thought.
But wait, did he heard it right? That brat! Maybe, she's scared. Right, she's just scared knowing that this will be a tough mission for a girl like her. But still, arggh!
'You miss her, do you' said by his inner voice
"NO!!!"
~SILENCE~
Did he just shout?
"It seems like you're not listening to what I have said. I wasted my precious saliva for talking without knowing that you aren't listening." That's it! He's too occupied for Pete's sake.
"Sorry, what is it again?" He sincerely apologized.
"Nevermind." The man said
"Anyways, before I forgot, He is Xyllus Phoenix Darker, the new Professor." What does he mean?
The call has ended and a few moments later, he heard three loud knocks from outside his office.
"Come in." He said
A man wearing a blue polo long sleeves shirt tucked on his black slacks entered the office.
Deafening silence filled the four-cornered room. Nothing can be heard except for the sound of the footsteps created by the man.
'This must be him' the professor thought to himself.
"Have a sit." He said in order to break the silence.
The guy then sit comfortably on the sofa in front of Froilan.
"You must be Professor Darker." It's not a question but a statement.
"Just call me Dash. It's only the two of us here so, no one can hear you." Dash lazily replied
"Yeah right. But I need to get used on calling you Mr. Darker." He casually said
"Yeah, whatever." The man then rolled his eyes at him.
'Is he somewhat a gay?' Asked by his curious mind
"Nah, I'm not." He looked at him trying to figure out if he said those words out loud again.
"How did you—
"Your face says it all, Archimetus." He almost forgot that this man in front of him is a detective.
But wait, did he just murdered his surname?
"It's ARITHMETICÙS." He said while trying to correct what Dash have said.
"K." This man is such a pain in the ass. He wonder how did Kaorie was able to handle his personality. Well, they're both hard-headed anyway.
"So how will you start your mission?" With his arising curiosity, he asked Dash regarding his purpose why he is now inside the campus.
Not just inside the Morim Institute, but inside his office as well.
"I'll work quietly, so no worries. I love silence. Just don't dare to invade my privacy." Froilan inhaled deeply after hearing Dash's words.
He'll be in a big trouble if anyone found about this man's existence.
"He already know." said by Dash
He lift his head with a big question mark on his face. He?
"Who are you referring to, Dash?" That intrigued him. If he already know, then why let whoever that scumbag is, to live freely? Can't he just tell it to the police?
"Why ask me? Investigate on your own. What money's are for?" He then smirked at him.
"Besides, I still don't have any idea about who is who? I just have a hunch that the person you are looking for is a HE." That made him sighed.
He has money, yes. But no matter what he did, he cannot find that person. Seeking for their help was his last option.
"Well then, I hope you find whoever he is. I'll give you a reward after that." With his words, Dash mentally grinned after hearing it.
"Uhm, let's see what I can do for you." He scratched his chin while saying those words to Froilan.
"But for now let's deal with this one. I can sense that someone is coming. Tick! tack! tick! tack!" From his rear-view, he can see Dash tapping his lap with his pointing finger as he said those words mimicking the sound of a clock.
Seconds after that, we heard a loud knocks from the outside.
"Mr. President! Professor Froilan!"
"Come in!" A woman in her mid-40s entered the office. She looks like someone who join the running contest.
She was barely catching his breath.
"Inhale." The woman inhaled deeply obeying what Dash said.
"Exhale." She did what she was told to do so.
"Now talk." There's a glint of amusement in the face of the woman.
"There's a commotion outside." Still breathing rapidly, she managed to say those words.
"Location?"
"Cafeteria." The woman answered
"If it was just a cat-fight between the group of girls, let them be." Froilan said un-bothered.
"No Mr. President. Someone got hit by an arrow right on her chest. And—" she seems hesitant to say a word.
"And?" Dash asked trying to get an information from Mrs. Magdalene, the woman in her mid-40s.
"She's dead. That's what the girl said." She said in a low voice.
"Girl?" Froilan uttered
"You can go now." Dash commanded and so the woman leave immediately.
When the woman stormed out of the office, Dash then face Froilan as he says,
"Told yah, he already knows." And with that, he turned his back at him and hurriedly went outside.
He got stunned for a moment but when he realized what's happening, he told Dash, "Wait! I'm coming with you."
Dash just ignored him and made his way to the cafeteria.
When they were already inside the crime scene, a familiar figure of a lady caught his attention. She was wearing a gloves while expertly examining the arrow that was on the chest of a murdered woman.
She's the blonde girl!
"Who gave you the permission to touch that, lady?"
