Chapter 4-1

2032 Words

Four Shane’s initial worry that having a wedding on a trail ride with sixty-some guests would be a monumental disaster was quickly proven wrong by the Conners’ effortless organization. June, Ben, Luke, and their staff had set up a straightforward routine to get the wedding guests ready for the ride, and they executed it flawlessly with the kind of polite command that left no room for argument. While the guests dressed for the ceremony, Shane, Becky, Ben, Luke, and the other guides saddled the horses. Then all Shane had to do was wait for the time to mount up when he would go down the line and give those riders needing one a hand into their saddles. In the meantime, he followed his fellow guides back to the lodge for the pre-ride check-off and perched on a stool at the thick log-slab bar.
