“She’s making me nervous,” Shane said, glancing over his shoulder into the living room of Luke’s cabin. Becky sat with James, Ryan, Alex, and Ashleigh on the floor playing some board game or other. She wore a blue and gold Montana State Bobcats T-shirt to show her support for her alma mater just as Luke wore his Bobcats jersey. Shane had donned his maroon and silver Griz jersey for the first time since his last game, and Ryan was wearing her favorite Griz T-shirt—the same one she’d worn to many of the home games to cheer him on—putting them on the opposite side of the afternoon’s rivalry game. Neither Alex nor James had picked a side, choosing instead to wear the Devyn Wolves T-shirts they’d bought at last night’s state championship game.
