Chapter 7: NightAt 5:30 P.M., Ash closed her notebook and looked over at Dayna and Kevin. They were both asleep. They had done very well at keeping up with her. Since Ash had only been on the run for a couple of days when she’d found them, she was worn out from walking, too. She put her pad of paper away and dug out her flashlight, even though darkness was still hours away.
Where are you, Matt?
She knew she would find him this time. She glanced at Dayna and Kevin again. Surely she had done the right thing. After all, they had asked to go with her. There was no way Ash could have left them in that house. She didn’t know what would happen after they found Matt, though.
