Chapter 10: RainAsh watched as Dayna cut Kevin’s hair as short as it would go. With every snip his hair blew away. When Dayna finished, his hair was about an eighth of an inch long. He rubbed his head. “That’s a lot better!” “I wish I could shave you completely bald,” Dayna said. “Why?” “If people do start looking for us, they’ll be looking for a redhead, not a bald head!” Ash laughed and got the squashed bread out of her bag. She remembered they were originally going to put the bread in the cooler so it wouldn’t get smashed, but it was too late now. Her hands shook as she loosened the twist tie, thinking about those hunters. She’d acted calm for Dayna and Kevin’s sake, but that could have been a complete disaster.
