OVERCOMING OBSTACLES

CHAPTER 2 As they navigated the challenges of starting over, they found themselves growing closer with each passing day. They learned to communicate better, to be more patient with each other, and to never take their love for granted. But just as things were starting to fall into place, an unexpected obstacle presented itself. His job required him to move to a different city, hundreds of miles away from her. They were faced with a difficult decision Kevin came to pick Melody up around the time he promised in other to take her out for dinner, before he travelled to another city for work. When he knocked on the door to her office, she was organizing the files in her cabinet The last time she'd taken them out had been a year earlier. Kevin entered her office upon reply, greeting her with a kiss. Melody smiled up at him. "Ready to go?" He inquired. She glanced into his warm brown eyes. "Yeah, just let me get my wallet." He shook his head, putting a brown hand over hers, "Let me get it." "No, I have the money, I can take care of things myself." She stated, going for her desk drawer. Kevin stopped her. "Why don't you let me do it?" Melody sighed, Kevin and Melody had been lover's since their childhood, and he was pressing for her to go out with him this will be a best moment for them before he travels to another city.. He did it so subtly, that she, for the most part was never annoyed. Glancing into his sincere brown eyes, she felt sympathy for the look of admiration in them. She hated that she couldn't repay all her errors in their past relationship that led them being apart for some years. . He was such a nice guy, and he has a good charismatic attitude.Melody exhaled a long thoughtful breath. "Alright, Kevin. Let's go to Lunch." As they pulled into the Pomatoc Cafe, Melody opened his door and stepped out of his 2017 "TOYOTA CAMRY". She closed the door behind her as he came and meet her around the front entrance of the restaurant. Kevin grabbed the door for her as she entered the building. "Thank-you," She responded politely. Kevin smiled, "You're welcome." As they entered the lobby area, a greeter extended them a welcome, "Table for two I presume?" Melody nodded, "Yes, please." They followed the waitress as she took them to a section of the restaurant. When they were seated, Melody looked up at him with a cordial smile. "How are things going with you at work?" He smiled, "Pretty good. But you know I've been transferred to another city far away from your city. Intelligent Corp is thinking about hiring me on permanently." He stated. Melody nodded, "That's nice. So how are we going to be seeing, now that you're being transferred to another city Kevin"? Kevin sighed and glanced down at his menu. " Well it's a thing you can come and visit me whenever you're free My love, or is it bad that way? "That's good love, I am not against that". Melody watched as he shrugged, with a bright smile on her face." Her eyes went to his hair, dark curly brown hair, a deep mahogany brown complexion, a lightly trimmed mustache and no beard. She remembered that he had deep set brown almost opal colored eyes, and nice eyebrows that at times were drawn to a uni brow. She thought him to be really handsome. He was slightly thin, with a graceful build that was perfect for his five foot eleven inch frame. Sighing, she glanced back down at her menu. The waiter served them "Scalloped shrimp with mashed potatoes, Kevin and Melody complimented the waiter in a polite way, "Scalloped shrimp and mashed potatoes has been their favourite food since their childhood, the aroma and taste of the food brought in a blissful memories to them. Would they let this distance tear them apart, or would they fight for their love? They decided to give the long-distance relationship a chance, knowing that it would be difficult but believing that their love was strong enough to withstand the distance. They made plans to visit each other as often as they could, to talk on the phone every day, and to never go to bed angry. It wasn't easy, but they found ways to make it work. They sent each other letters and care packages, they Face Timed every night before bed, and they counted down the days until they could be together again . As the weeks turned into months, doubts and insecurities began to creep into their minds. Was their love strong enough to survive the distance? Were they fooling themselves into thinking they could make it work? They had their fair share of arguments and misunderstandings, but they always found a way to work through them. They reminded each other of the love they shared, of the memories they had created together, and of the future they dreamed of building. But Kevin doubts kept on raging the more and made to be impatient, he criticized, Melody a lot, and complains about her a lot due to her indecent dressing and her been close to men, it was a tough situation for her, Kevin was too impatient and his curiosity made him think In a wrong way probably maybe his future partner isn't faithful. But how won't you trust your partner and you expect such relationship to last, do you think such relationship will last long? I always pray to God never to make such mistake of finding the wrong partner in my life, "I love melody with all my heart and it will totally ruin me if she's not faithful to me, I love her more than anything else, he soliloquize". They're lot of things I had to focus well in her, so as to not choose the wrong partner, and I'm happy God guide me right in finding my soulmate I've ever dreamt of. Kevin believe In himself and he was really convinced that, God orchestrated their meeting together, and it's a glorious and magnificent thing to behold, it brought in warmth, happiness and joy to him.
