Chapter-5 "Guest at Granny's"

I was listening to the one of my favorite songs but was distracted by a voice.
"Ice cream...Ice cream... Cold Ice cream"
It was a ice cream seller moving across my lobby. One of the child there asked her mother..
"Ma Ma..look ice cream.. please let me have one.."
"No way! you were not well last week. There is no way I am purchasing it for you.. " her mother said.
Her eyes was still looking at the ice cream owner with a strong feeling of desire.
"Her eyes... it reminds me of someone.. Tina."
10 YEARS AGO
I finished my lunch and was going out with my friends. I came out and my eyes paused at something strange. A car was parked outside the house of the Landlady. I was surprised as it was the first time I had seen someone visiting her house.
I was curious to know about the visitor.
After playing for about half an hour I was returning back to my house. My foot stopped in front of the land lady's house.
No car was there now. First I thought the visitors are gone. But suddenly a thought struck me
"Did they took the land lady too? "
I noticed the door it was not locked. I was relaxed. I tried to look for Peko. But I saw someone else. There was a girl of about my age or less. She was watering the plants and was singing some kind of prayer. She soon noticed me watching her.
I tried to hide my self behind the boundaries wall. She ran inside the house leaving the water mug.
I ran towards my house.
Next morning, I was outside my house playing with stones and suddenly I saw the same girl at the door of land lady's house. She was looking at me. She then ran inside the house.
In afternoon my mom asked me to take some Kheer(An Indian sweet dish made of milk, sugar and rice) to the land lady.
I asked my mom to come with me but she refused mentioning that she was busy with the kitchen.
I take the bowl half filled with Kheer to the land lady's house. I asked
"Granny?"...
The lady comes out..
"Oh Arun... where have you been from last few days...?
"I was busy with some work. Ma had made some Kheer for you...here it is"
"Oh that's so sweet of you ...come! come in?"
It was the first time I was thinking of going inside her house after knowing her. But I can't refuse her. She took the bowl from my hands and followed her to the room. I show the same girl sitting on the floor drawing something.
"Look Tina! who is here?.. it's arun" Land lady told the girl.
The lady put the bowl in kitchen and came to me..
"Arun it's my granddaughter Tina. She is here for vacation "
She was Tina. The daughter of land lady's daughter who were settled in Delhi.
Before I say something and sound hits our ears..
Tin Tin Tin...
It was the ice cream seller. Tina reacted to the sound quickly. Her eyes was full of desire to have one. Granny me one to buy two... one for Tina and one for me.. I tired to refused I can't. I brought them and handle one to Tina.
I got to know that she loves ice cream.
I want to know more about her.
Present Time
Noticed the child and buy an ice cream bar for her. Her mother refused but I convince her. She was really happy to have one
"Thank you Mister" girl said..i smiled
