Chapter 8: MIDDLE CLASS

Come in!" Sia said, calming Emily down. The door opened, and Dada walked in looking like he had no problem in the universe. "How are you, Emily?" He walked in with a bag in his hand. Emily had her head down, feeling some kind of shame. She couldn't believe she had discarded such a beautiful relationship for a bond that was ruining her entire being. "I'm not in the mood to speak. I just want to have my breakfast and think of what's next to do with my life." "I'm not here to disrupt your life. I know you are not interested in me and can't date me. I have accepted that. I'm also here to apologize to you," he said, and brought out what he had in the bag. It was a bracelet. "You loved me genuinely, yet I wanted more. I was selfish, and I should have heard you before trying to make you look bad." He said and went close to her. "Please accept my little token." He begged, and she smiled and stretched her hand. He wore the bracelet on her and smiled. "You should join us. There is more food." Sia said, already bringing out some plates and placing some food on them. "Thank you!" He sat down and started eating. Right after breakfast, Emily thought it was a good idea to think of what to do next and go to the balcony, thinking deeply. "You aren't going anywhere today?" Dada asked from behind, and she turned to look at him. "My yesterday was the worst. I don't want my tomorrow to be like that. I have a question. Is it a bad thing to be from the middle-class part of the pack? There are a lot of beautiful people here who are actually middle class and not just that, they deserve the best, so why did he reject me?" She said, sulking. "Reject?" Dada was confused. Emily realized what she had just said and sat up instantly, clearing her throat. "Nothing like rejection. Sorry, I think I'm hallucinating." She said again and then got up and walked out of the balcony, leaving Dada in confusion. She became addicted to the field where she had met Ethan and would stay there for hours before returning home. Two nights after, she lay on the field deep in thought. She had no idea that it was already so dark, and when she realized it, it caused her to jump up in fright. "Oh my gosh! Sia would be so worried about me." She muttered and dusted herself. The moment she turned, there he was again. She blinked her eyes in shock and swallowed it. "Once bitten, twice shy!" She thought and walked past him, but then he dragged her back with force. "Have you forgotten I am your alpha and you have to bow whenever you notice my presence?" He growled, and she looked up at him. "I'm sorry, I don't remember ever pledging allegiance to any man, but I do remember having a mate who would have been my alpha, but it didn't work. Right now, I can't remember anyone and I want nothing with any man. Not even the pathetic you." She spat, pushed his hands, and walked away. Ethan froze. A random woman has never spoken to him like that before. Not even the princesses from other packs, but this woman not only barged into his palace, she didn't regard him as her Alpha. "I want every bit of information about her. Don't miss a thing." He ordered Beta Joe, who was behind him. "Go now and make sure it's ready by the time I'm awake tomorrow." He growled, and Beta Joe rushed out, leaving him there even though he was worried. He tried to stand strong as he then walked to the exact spot Emily had lay on and sat down there. This was his favorite place to be in the pack. He was told that the pack members barely step their feet here for fear of the unknown. But why was she different? Her fearless nature got him wondering if she even knew a thing about this pack, because if she did, she would know that this field was a forbidden one. Only a strong-minded Alpha, Beta, and Luna could boldly walk in there and relax.. But she was middle class. He couldn't wait to hear from Beta Joe the next morning. "Aunt, you needed to see the way Ethan treated a young woman who would have been his mate. I'm so worried now because who is to tell that he is going to have a second chance, mate?" Bella poured her heart out to Ethan's mother, who had just returned from a trip. "I will try to speak to him about it once he returns. If she is a good girl, then they have to come back together. The moon goddess will make it happen." She said to Bella, caressing her hair with the hope that she would worry less. Ethan arrived home that night and met his mother waiting at his door. She looked ready to go to bed. "Mom!" He sounded excited as he hugged her. "Yes, son. I returned earlier but was told you stepped out." She said to open the door for him to get in, but he didn't and just stood there. "I just returned. Please go to bed. We will talk better in the morning." He said to her. "Not too quick, son. You aren't going to dismiss me that easily. I heard some good news that later sounded like bad news. Did you reject your mate?" She questioned him, and he looked at her. "I have no mate. I think the moon goddess just wanted to play with me. When I get a mate, you will be the first to know, Mom. Please go to bed. I can't handle the conversation about that pathetic soul for long." He spat, already feeling pissed. He gritted his teeth. "Bella has no better job." He muttered to himself.
