"Daniel,say a quick prayer for our food".Mrs Waters said shortly after they settled down for dinner.
"Thank you Lord for this food,bless it o'Lord and sanctify it in Jesus name".
"Amen".They all chorused and started eating.
"Gus ,how was your day?"Mrs Waters asked.
"It was fun,I went bowling with some guys from school".
"Jules and Tina,how about you?" She asked again.
"We had loads of fun.Jules and her friends showed me round their favorite mall and I met the librarian,mum she's cool".
"Daniel,how about you?"
"I didn't do much,I just did homework and played games with a friend from school".Daniel answered.
"Jules,you've been very quiet since dinner began.Any problems?"Mrs Waters asked.
"No no.There is really nothing to say Mrs Waters".Jules replied.
"Now,I've told you to call me mum"Mrs Waters said.
"okay mum"Jules replied.
"Kids,I want to talk to you about something".
"what is it mum?" Daniel asked.
"Your dad is moving here".
Tina was the first person to recover from the shock.
"What!!!!!!!!"Jules exclaimed in surprise. "Is he stalking us or something????"
"He has the nerve".Daniel muttered.
"Mum,you really don't mean it.Do you?"Gus asked.
"Kids,I am serious"Mrs Waters said."He called this morning and said his new wife has Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and she wants to live close to her sister who is her only family apart from your dad and her son".
"So why did he call to tell you?"Daniel asked.
"He said he didn't want us to be taken unawares"Mrs Waters sighed and continued."Listen kids,he isn't going to really live in Tamledge because of his job.He is just going to visit his wife and his son occasionally".
"Great,I've suddenly lost my appetite".Tina said standing up from the table."I am going upstairs to lie down for a while".
"Tina".Mrs Waters called."You and your brothers have to forgive your Dad.I know he wronged us all with the cheating and divorce saga and its going to be really hard to do so,but you have to do it eventually.Its been two years now and I think this feud has gone on long enough.He is ready to make peace and so am I.Irrespective of how he has wronged us,we have to forgive him because God has commanded us to do so.Let's do our own part and leave God to do the rest,agreed?".
"Agreed".Tina answered for everybody.
"Jules,do you mind if I help you dry the dishes while you wash them???"Gus asked.
"No no,not at all"
"Great".Gus replied."Because I am not feeling sleepy at all"
"Thank you".Jules said.
After a minute of uncomfortable silence Gus asked."Are you doing anything after washing the dishes??"
"Nope,I am just going to go upstairs and try to catch some sleep"
"Okay,can you watch a movie with me??I have asked everybody and no one feels up to it".
"Sure,what's the title?"
"Vampire Academy,it's a horror movie".
"Don't worry,I won't scream".Jules said drying her hands with a hand towel."I'm not a girlie-girl".
"Load a movie tray while I go get the movie".
"I don't know what you would like".Jules called after him.
"Chips,pretzels,popcorn,a drink.Just usual stuff".
"okay".
"I'm back".
"Sorry but there's no popcorn".
"No problem.Did you notice that this is the longest conversation we've ever had?.Gus asked as he sat down and hit the play button.
"I don't think we've ever had a conversation before".
"That's true".
"Did you enjoy the movie?"Gus asked halfway to her room.
"Yes I did".
"Goodnight".
"Goodnight".Jules called after him.She was very tired but she wasn't sure she would be able to sleep at all.She had just seen a movie with the guy of her dreams.That was a giant step.
