CHAPTER FIVE
SOMEONE WAS in high spirits as she walked into her bungalow. Daniel watched his girlfriend as she hummed joyously, skidding across the sitting room to place a kiss on his lips. Her dark skin glowed with sweat, obviously from the journey from her office navigating Lagos traffic.
“Someone’s excited today,” Daniel commented. “Was there another promotion? A raise?”
“I will not let you spoil my joy,” she said calmly, tossing herself on the three-seat couch.
Daniel was amused. He particularly enjoyed it when his girlfriend was her giddy self. Dropping the can of beer in his hand to the floor beside his chair, he straightened up to face her and waited for her to share the good news that was making her happy.
