The Beginning

almost 18 years earlier

I was born early on the second Friday of October, this day was the 13th. This day is seen as unlucky to many, this includes my family.It was a wet and rainy night the day my mother went into labour, she screamed and screamed for the whole night up untill I made an appearance just after 1am. Well this is what im told, by those that were present at my birth. Being the first born to the Alpha I was to inherit his land, I was the future of the pack and those that attended their birth were to be blessed by the Moon Godess with whatever they desired the most. Yet everyone who attended was shocked, when they stood up and presented me. They were shocked because I was a girl, and an Alpha having a girl as their first child was unheard of.

My parents were told they were going to be having a boy.This is what they expected so prepared for a boy. They didn't check with the doctor to make sure I was a boy but an Alpha usually has a boy as their first child. As their first born would be the heir to the kingdom. Well the heir to their pack and all the benefits that come with being the Alpha would be there's when they turn 20. With a daughter all of this will change....

present day

I am Rana Black first born child to James Black and Janene Black the Alpha and Luna of the Midnight Clan. Many people think my name is weird but it apparently its meant to mean queenly in Arabic so it fits me -well that's what my parents had hoped anyway. I am around 5 foot 6 inches tall average height for a human teenager but I'm short compared to some of the girls I've grown up with. I have ocean blue eyes and jet black hair, the eyes I get from my mother while my hair is just like my father's. I'm a strange combination of the two of them, with my skin being just as pale as anyone who spends most of their time inside.

It's coming up to my birthday which is exciting and worrisome at the same time. Usually on a person's 16th birthday their wolf appears and allows them to find their mate. Yet its almost my 18th and my wolf hasn't even hinted at who my mate could be.

Sometimes a person's mate isn't in their pack so they have to travel in order to find them. Or they find them at the Annual Fall gathering. This gathering takes place every year on which ever days the clocks fall back. Unmated wolves above the age of 18 are allowed to attened and this year would be the first year im allowed to go. Because on the 13th I will officially be an adult and allowed to attend no matter whether my father agrees with me or not I shall be going.
