Kael cut him off. Then, he did something that completely stunned both me and Andrew. He let go, stood up, and walked toward me. Every step was heavy and deliberate.
He stripped off his shirt and gently draped it over my shaking, almost naked body. The fabric still held his body heat. It wrapped around me completely, blocking out the cold air and the fear rushing through my head. He stood there, chest bare and muscles rippling.
"Sorry I'm late." His voice was unbelievably gentle. It was like he was a totally different person from the monster he was a second ago.
I snapped my head up, staring at him in disbelief. Did he... not believe it? Or did he believe it, but... didn't care?
How was that possible? How could anyone know the "truth" about me and still accept me, or even...
