Author’s Notes
Jail had a revolving door for Daisy for almost two years. Mr Beirne helped to get her sentence set at five years probation, which kept her in the county jail rather than the penitentiary, but due to his constant appeals on her behalf, she would be released on bail, only to be re-jailed when her appeal was rejected. Her first release, as noted here, was in late March of 1931. Some of the other in and out included:
July 13, 1931- Her bail bondsman surrendered her back to jail because the appellate court and the Supreme Court had both rejected her appeal.
January 1932- I found a mention of her getting out for a short while when Beirne filed for another appeal.
April 30, 1932 – Her sentence was upheld by the Court of Appeals again. Beirne said he was going to file for rehear
