Darkness. I could hear birds chirping. But I couldn’t open my eyes. I couldn’t feel my body either or move. I tried to speak and couldn’t. I tried to reach out to Lean. Nothing. My heart started racing in panic. Then a warm hand was on mine. And I heard someone whispering but could not make out their words. Their touch calmed me though. I have no idea how much time passed like this. I could hear more now. My senses were returning. The first thing I felt was pain. My body felt like I’d been beaten. Then I felt a warm body lying next to me holding my hand. I could hear him now. David was speaking, he was the one next to me.
“We cannot stay here; we need to move her.”
“She seems to be getting better and out of danger. We have arranged everything. We will be ready in the next hour.” Ryan's
