The next day, after the annual party, Xavier working in his office received the attachment sent by Bastian of Red Iris Pack. As it had been downloaded, he immediately opened and read its details little by little. His eyes scanned each word typed carefully so that he could protest some points that were not agreeable. Around a few minutes forward, he dialed Bastian through his cell phone.
“Yes? Who’s there?” Bastian’s deep voice was heard once the call was connected.
“It’s me, Xavier. I want to negotiate some rules you have set in the document.” Xavier told straightforwardly.
“Go ahead. I’m listening,” Bastian responded casually.
“I don’t think I agree with rule number three stated here. You cannot forbid me from touching Selena.” Xavier alluded.
“All right. You can omit it. What else?” Bastian suggested and asked at the same time.
“And the rule number five. Margareth is still my wife legally. It’s ridiculous if I must stay separately in the castle.” Xavier retorted.
Bastian then sighed with his vengeful thoughts to his interlocutors. Deep down in his mind, he wanted to curse the Alpha he considered a lustful person. Nonetheless, he attempted to be more composed by uttering, “Whenever you miss her, you are not allowed to stay in her room. Neither she is.”
The insistent decision made Xavier clench his jaw as he inhaled for a while. “You get on my nerves. Are you looking for a war with my pack??” Xavier fumed.
Holding his phone confidently, Bastian struck a tiny smile and replied, “If you intend to do so, I’ll be happy to be your opponent along with my friends here, but I doubt that you will win it.”
Being enraged with his frustrated face, Xavier decided to disconnect the call. Without any swearing words uttered, he looked for the information of Red Iris Pack since he barely heard the pack’s name. “D*mn it! I have just known that the Red Iris Pack is also a top-tier pack, unlike mine,” Xavier swore resentfully when he noticed the facts about the pack led by Bastian. Realizing that he needed a few suggestions on the problem he faced, he called Beta Blake.
As the tall young man entered his room, Xavier asked, “Do you get along with Alpha Bastian, Beta Blake?”
“Well, I only know him, but I’m not close. Since his status can be considered as the Highest Alpha in this country, it will be awkward for me to be friends with him,” Blake confirmed his reason as he stared cautiously at Xavier.
“It means I have no choice. Once he declares a war with us, we end ourselves in his hands.” Xavier said as he put his intense gaze towards the document on the screen.
Blake acknowledging the scandalous problem faced by his Alpha suggested, “Based on the recent situation, I recommend you to follow his game. Each decision you make will affect your image as an Alpha and a businessman. Even now, your name in online media is discussed badly due to having a mistress.”
Reflecting on the suggestion given, several thoughts and plans were running on Xavier’s head. However, he could not pick some of them because they would make him suffer by taking the fatal consequences, such as dethroning his position. Then, he put his signature on the space provided, next to Bastian’s sign.
After that, while Beta Blake had left him alone, Xavier swore, ”I’ll make sure that Margareth would never step on his pack or even interact with him!”

“PIP! PIP!” The email notification shouted while Bastian had just finished making a cup of coffee. Subsequently, he opened the attachment and struck a winning smile. Through the joy painted on his gaze, he knew his prediction would be true. “I know. You can’t mess up with me, Alpha Xavier,” He said in his mind.
As he kept his smile, he recalled the day when he was investigating a few people having relations with Alpha Xavier. Through the data he got, he set the most suitable game plan. The main reason for it was to approach Margareth. If so, he may also save Luna whenever dangers peeked on her. Another reason behind his game plan was to give Xavier a vital lesson on how to respect someone’s existence before he regretted one day for losing.
From the tiny smile pasted on his face, it changed into a devilish smirk as Bastian said, “Well since the game has started, I will make a surprisingly good start.”
With his calm expression, he dialed Xavier, and the interlocutor greeted him harshly, “What do you want, Lordly Alpha??”
Widening his smirk towards the mocking words, Bastian replied, “Can I speak to your Luna?”
Noticing the request, Xavier clenched his jaw. His stares were covered by jealousy and fear. Although he might play or flirt with Selena, deep down, inside his heart, he was possessive towards Margareth. Consequently, he answered, “No, you can’t. She is still my wife.”
As he heard the reactions, Bastian didn’t give up. Instead of changing the topic, he threatened, “I’ll kidnap Selena then. Remember rule number four.”
The utterance that involved Selena seriously made Xavier stammered, “D-don’t y-you dare! Don’t put her in our business!”
“How can’t it be? Didn’t you notice that you have cheated on your wife??” Bastian demanded by telling the shameful truth. Xavier certainly felt humiliated as he could not defy him.
“All right. You can talk to her, but no more than an hour.” Xavier agreed coercively and limited the interaction.
Then, as Bastian was waiting in line, Xavier gave his phone to Margareth coming into the room. “Bastian wants to talk to you,” Xavier mentioned.
With the curiosity lingering in her mind, Margareth held and put the phone on her right ear. “What’s up, Bastian?”
“Good afternoon, Margie. Sorry for calling you all of a sudden.” Bastian accosted.
“That’s fine. I’m not busy at this hour. Anyway, it’s me who must be sorry because of Xavier’s past attitudes towards you.” Margareth responded as she noticed Xavier gritting his teeth, showing that he was offended.
“It’s nothing.” Bastian uttered, and he asked, “Well since you are free, can we meet?”
“Sure. Where is it?” Margareth nodded.
“At my place,” Bastian revealed confidently.
The short answer might not be a big deal for Margareth, but in her mind, She was sure that Xavier would confront her since she understood that her Alpha was selfish and possessive. At that point, she heard another word uttered by Bastian, “How is it? I’ll pick you up. No need to worry.”
“Yeah, of course, I’ll be there. I’ll prepare.” Margareth answered although she noticed that her Alpha was furious through his glance.
