Chapter Twenty-Six

2486 Words

I looked over the men, the angels before me. I told them I forgave them, and in a way, I think I did. Because I loved them. But they had abandoned me so easily, left me without a thought. Would they do it again over something else? Could I trust them to stay by my side? My eyes moved to Lucifer. He stood a not far from them but it was obvious they were on separate ground. I didn’t like it, them being separated like this. It’s not how things were supposed to be. I don’t know how I knew; I just did. Just as I knew we were made for each other, why though I had no idea. I was human, I would only live maybe ninety years, if I’m lucky. That was fleeting for them, merely a wrinkle in the fabric of time and space. How would they react to losing me? “Will any of you do it again? Leave me I mean?”
