Adrian barely steadied himself and stared warily at the unfamiliar man before him, an ominous feeling rising in his chest.
"Who are you?"
The man stepped forward, his voice cold. "I should be asking you that. Who are you to harass her?"
"I'm her husband!"
"He's my ex-husband!"
The two voices rang out at the same time.
The word ex-husband stabbed into Adrian's heart.
He looked at her in disbelief. "Vanessa, have you had enough? I endured your disappearance and the divorce, but do not say that we are finished."
Daniel moved to stand between them. "If I heard correctly, she said ex-husband. Let me remind you that your behavior already constitutes harassment."
Anger surged through Adrian. He looked past Daniel toward Vanessa. "Are you with this man just to make me angry? Fine, you win
