Chapter Twelve: Reunion

Maddy’s POV:

Days had passed, maybe even weeks of the same routine. Breakfast which consisted of two slices of bread and murky water then Dean would come in and ask the same question he does every day.

“Will you be my Bride?”

Then once I spit in his face or tell him where to shove it, he sends one of his goons in to try and beat me into submission.

Some would come close but so far I’ve bested every last one of them. I’m bruised from head to toe and very tired but I’m still holding out that I will be found soon.

I try to mind link Elijah every night but once I start I immediately get a piercing headache. I don’t know how but Dean has to be to blame for it. I’ve never heard of such magic though, stopping a werewolf’s mind link with their pack seemed impossible. Still, I won’t give up. I’ll keep trying to make contact in hopes to eventually breakthrough. Elijah won’t give up on me, I know it.

Just then Dean walked in to ask his daily question. Here we go again.

Elijah’s POV:

Three weeks had passed and we still hadn’t come up with anything to find Maddy. Three weeks of her being Goddess knows where and having no idea of what’s happening to her.

Jacob had to return home to his pack but he’s continuing the search from there. His mom and dad have been sick with worry, calling me every day for an update and to check in on me. I wish just once when they call I could tell them we were getting closer to bringing Maddy home.

“Sorry Alpha Gray, still no news but we won’t give up until we find her”

“*Sigh* Okay, I’ll call you later but please let me know immediately if things change”

That’s how almost all of our calls have been. Sad and hopeless. I’ve had my pack scouring the surrounding woods and even sent groups to go check around the other pack borders just to be safe.

I’ve secluded myself in my office, barely even speaking to Tyler when he comes in with updates and pack business. I feel useless and angry I let my Luna be taken. She should of never been put in a position to be taken. I keep going over and over the events of that day, thinking of things I could of done differently. Goddess help me find her. I slumped in my chair as I heard a knock on my door.

“Boss, we have news!” Tyler said almost tripping on his feet walking in.

I instantly jump to mine “Do you know where she is?!”

“Our trackers think they picked up her scent around a large farm property. They also have a vehicles who’s tire tracks look the same from the ones they found at the scene. They want permission to move in and check it out further”

“Send me the coordinates. They have my permission to go in, I’ll be right behind them. I’ll deal with the fall out if anyone has a problem with it. Call Alpha Gray and update him on the situation also” I yelled as I ran out the pack house and shifted immediately, pushing my wolf like I’ve never pushed before.

“I’m coming Maddy”

Maddy’s POV:

I stood over yet another one of Deans pack, this one put up a good fight. He was faster than the others. He got more than a few good hits in and I almost succumbed to my injuries but thankfully he was also cocky and made the mistake of letting his guard down. That’s when I took him down.

I sat down trying to catch my breath and look over my injuries when Dean walked in, he looked semi surprised it wasn’t me on the floor unconscious. He called to have him removed from the room and waited until they were gone before walking towards me.

“You know we could stop all this, it brings me no joy to see my future Luna in such a state.” He waved his hand towards me as if to say “just look at you”

He kept staring at me waiting for me to speak but I kept my head down, I refused to let him see how much he has broken me. I refuse to let him see me vulnerable.

“All you have to do is agree to marry me, then your life with get infinitely better. Maybe even a proper meal? Wouldn’t you like that my dear?” He asked tilting his head.

“Ugh food”

Bodhi was starving too, she was becoming less and less active in my head. I can feel her slowly giving up.

“Okay well, I’ll leave you to think it over then. Just tell when you have made your decision.”

He tried to graze my cheek but I quickly turned away. He simply stood up and walked out the room but slammed the door as he left.

I chuckled, glad I upset his royal highness.

“That’s also your brother-in-law”

I sighed.

“Yeah I know. How are we ever going to tell Elijah about his brother being the Rogue King? He’s going to be so upset.”

She stayed quiet. She’s knows we may not ever get the chance to tell him ourselves. I hung my head, I don’t know how much longer I can do this but I also refuse to cave in to his demands.

Tears slowly made their way down my face, what was I going to do? Was I ever going to be able to see my family again?

Ugh. Knock it off Maddy! You are the daughter of an Alpha! Act like it!

Just then we heard a familiar howl outside. Elijah? I jumped onto my feet as Dean burst through the door, tackled me and held a knife to my throat. I was so caught off guard by Elijah that I didn’t have time to react.

“If you want them to live, you won’t make a sound” he whispered through gritted teeth.

Elijah’s POV:

Once I was close enough I linked the tracker wolves to get a status update. They decided to hold back and observe to see if they needed reinforcements. They counted several Rouges in the area and wanted to ensure the safety of their Luna if she was there.

I made it to the area and found the tracker in charge, Devin.

“How many?”

“So far we count 22 Rogue wolves circling the property and at least six people inside the house Alpha. We have 18 men here. More than enough. I will shift and go knock and access before we move forward”

I gave a nod and waited for Devin to make his way to the house. He swiftly avoided all the wolves detection. They were obviously untrained and weren’t in a routine pattern of circling the property.

Soon enough he was at the door. We were all watching through the mind link, waiting to attack in an instant if given the word or if he was in danger.

A tall blonde man opened the door, “Who the hell are you?” He asked looking him up and down.

“Sorry to bother you, my name is Devin, I’m a guard from the Eastern pack and we seemed to have lost one of our prisoners. We tracked their scent to these parts and I was wondering if you had seen anything sus luscious as of late?” He flashed his most innocent smile but Devin was suddenly very stiff. Why?

“No we haven’t, now get the hell off my property before things get ugly. “

“Ah well that’s unfortunate. I’m very to have disturbed you. Have a good day”

He turned around and left, now being eyed by a bunch of wolves, most likely baffled by how he got through in the first place.

He made it back over to us and shifted back to his wolf.

“Alpha, our Luna is inside. Once he opened the door her scent was all over the air, but I also smelled a lot of blood”

My wolf howled. We were going to kill every last person in there if my mate was harmed.

We took off tearing apart any wolf who was in our way. They weren’t prepared for us or how well we worked together. My men made a clear path for me and two other to get to the house.

They entered first, breaking the door down and instantly killing the blonde man and injuring the others who were in the room. They instantly surrendered and we might also need them for questioning later. I went in next and slowly sniffed around the house. I quickly picked up Maddy’s scent and almost ran to the room she was being held in. Now more wolves were in the house and were checking the rest of the place for anyone hiding. I finally got to the room where she was and busted down the door.

My eyes immediately found Maddy. She was sickly thin and pale. Her face swollen and bruised. I was enraged at this sight.

Blood all around the room but I could smell it wasn’t all hers. Then my eyes found the knife at her throat. I growled and raised my eyes up to see who dared to hold a knife to my Luna.

What I saw made my heart drop, I stood there in disbelief. It couldn’t be..
