The bird dropped…and flopped. Not a clean kill, but Tupi was swiftly on it to take care of that concern. When the smoke—or rather, feathers—cleared, there were six geese lying on the ground around the pond. It might’ve been more if they’d had the smaller-game spears with them. Tupi had to finish off one of the other men’s geese, too. When the spears and geese had been collected, they were all wearing happy smiles. Leo didn’t know how much small game was already in the queue for dinner, but with this addition, the tribe would surely eat well today.
