Chapter 36 The passage widened until they reached a cavern roughly the size of a small sports arena. It was almost perfectly round, the ceiling was so high that it was scarcely visible, and the sombre black walls looked to have been sprinkled with glitter. In the centre of this dazzling space, three steps led up to a kind of altar. Floating above the stone slab was a large globe that contained a glowing substance that filled the room with light.
