Chapter 21 The entire surviving population of Ruby City was mustered at the southern wall. The men were fighting on the battlements atop the wall, using swords, hammers and anything else they could get their hands on. Whenever the shaven head of a barbarian popped up, somebody immediately went over to strike it. But the enemy showed no signs of fatigue, and more ladders kept appearing over the parapet.
