Chapter 2: ENZO (en-zho)

THIRD-PARTY's POV

"Duh, palibhasa may mga connection dito sa SouthFord!" Natalie mumbled. Lumalakad na silang apat pabalik ng council’s office nang bigla na lang syang nainis sa mga kasama niya.

Her companions were on cloud nine and it annoyed her more.

"Oh My—!!! Tell me I am not dreaming. Pinch me! Hinawakan ako ni Aika! Shiiit!!!!"

Robert whispered to Natalie.

Tamang tama naman ang pagdating din nina Calvin at Dwayne, na kapwa officers din at representatives ng ibang department. "Uy, ano yung nangyari sa gate kanina?" Tanong ni Dwayne "Kita ko yun!"

"s**t bro, langya ka. Kausap mo sina Rina at Aika!" Masayang sambit naman ni Calvin.

"Guys, get a grip! What's the big deal ba with those people?" Inis na tanong ni Natalie sa kanila.

"It is a big deal, Nat. Si Aika Hirano at Rina Rodriguez yun! Tangina!" Exaggerated na sagot ni Calvin.

"At hinawakan nya ako bro, ang bango bango nya!" paulit ulit pa rin na sinasabi Robert habang umaarteng nagde-daydream.

"f**k, ang swerte mo! Saan sya humawak? Paamoy nga!" Sabi ni Calvin habang inaabot ang braso ni Robert.

"No way! Pagdadamot ko to no!" Sagot ni Robert na pilit na tinatakpan ang kanyang braso kung saan sya tinapik ni Aika.

"Ang O-OA nyo! Mauna na nga ako sa inyo sa office." Natalie blurted and she walked away from them.

Meanwhile, at the Student Council's office, I was busy with my MacBook, checking on the university PIO's social media accounts, which I personally handle and manage along with two of our public information officers.

I am Lorenzo "Enzo" Torres and I was elected as the President of the SouthFord University Student Council Organization for 2020 by a large margin compared to my co-presidential candidate, Elver Gotera of the Architecture Department.

This responsibility wasn't new to me. Ever since na pumasok ako ng University as a budding Business and Finance student, naging active na ako sa mga organization at naging consistent representative na rin ng aming department for the student council.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't the typical nerd na nakasuot ng eyeglasses, at braces, wearing those loud, off-the-fashion kind of outfits in school. (Forgive me for being prejudiced ?)

I am actually the opposite.

My friends say I am every girl's dream daw, kasi I am mysterious and conservative. I know I am also adorably good looking, with my well-built body, towering height, and very charming face, hindi maiwasan na habulin ako ng mga babae. I am also doing well academically. In fact, consistent Dean's lister din ako, considering that Business and Finance is not a piece of cake. I'm also good at playing musical instruments; guitar, keyboards, drums... and I also sing. I come from a family of businessmen, as my dad is a construction mogul while my mom naman is a doctor. If driving a Lexus RX350 SUV will make us well off, then so be it. They say I am an ideal guy na but again, don't get me wrong. I don't let that get into my head.

In fact, may pagka suplado at strikto din ako minsan, lalo na pag trabaho at pag aaral ang pag uusapan.

And as a consistent dean’s lister, I value studying very much. I don't want to depend on my parents forever, although I know that we can afford things.

And having that kind of outlook, I gained respect from my schoolmates.

Para kasi sa akin, in order for my fellow students to respect me, dapat karespe-respeto din ako.

Isa pa, landslide ang pagkapanalo ko nung election bago matapos ang school year last year, meaning, marami ang estudyanteng nagtiwala sa kakayahan kung mamuno. Tama lang na ibalik ko sa mga nagtiwala sa akin ang magandang programang inaasahan ng mga students ng SouthFord University.

I was still busy browsing my Mac nang biglang pumasok na dumadabog si Natalie. I ignored her, kasi kilala naman namin si Natalie na mareklamo, mainitin ang ulo at pikon.

Ilang sandali pa, pumasok din sina Calvin, Robert and Dwayne na nag-aalaskahan at nagtatawanan pa rin.

"Dali na kasi, paamoy lang!" pilit ni Calvin kay Robert. I heard them bantering each other and I raised my brow.

Ang iingay nila so they got my attention. I squinted my eyes at them.

Nang hindi nila napansin na andun ako, I cleared my throat to get their attention too.

"Ehem, sino ang naiwan sa main gate?" I asked. "It's only 9 in the morning."

"Pres, you're here. Andun sina Minerva at VP Lawrence." sagot ni Robert.

"Sige na, tol, promise, once lang." patuloy pa ring namimilit si Calvin kay Robert, and I wonder what they are up to.

"Go na, bro, pagbigyan mo na to, di ka titigilan nito hanggat di nya naamoy yan. Tapos ako ang susunod." tumawa si Dwayne. "Joke lang."

Tumaas ang isang kilay ko. "Anong meron?"

Calvin turned to me at parang nagsumbong. "Pres, ito kasing si Robert, ang damot-damot nya. Gusto ko lang naman amuyin kung saan sya hinawakan ni Aika."

"Ang O-OA nyo talaga! Di naman sya hinawakan ah. Tinapik lang!" sagot ni Natalie na halatang inis na inis pa rin. “What’s with you ba, boys?”

"Kahit na!" pabirong sagot pa rin ni Calvin.

"Sino?" I asked again. I heard what he said but I just want to make sure.

"Si Aika Hirano, Pres! Yung magandang chicks sa Fine Arts department." sagot naman ni Robert.

Dwayne smiled and mumbled. "Kilala niya yan, di ba, pare?" pertaining to me.

"Tsss...." I just said, dismissing it, and shrugged my shoulders.

I don’t want to make any comments.

The banters were cut when a student assistant knocked on our door. "Excuse me po, Pres. Good morning. Pinapatawag po kayo ni Sir Rios sa office nya."

"Ah ok, sure, anong oras?" I asked.

"Ah ngayon daw po." The student replied.

"What? As in now?" I asked again in surprise. I frowned. I looked at my watch. I have class at 11, but I still have enough time to spare.

"Opo Pres."

"Bakit daw?"

"Ewan ko, Importante daw. May complain yata sa student council."

Napabuntong hininga ako at kumunot ang nuo.

First week ng class, may complain na kaagad?

"Any idea kong ano yun?” I looked at each of my officers, asking them kung may alam sila about it.

They shook their heads.

“No idea, Pres.” Ani Robert.

“Ako rin, walang alam.” Sabi naman ni Calvin.

Natalie just shrugged her shoulders.

I sighed before I turned my attention back to the student assistant again.

“Ok, Please tell Sir Rios susunod ako right away." sagot ko sa student assistant bago ko tinurn-off ang aking MacBook. Mahirap na, baka galawin at pagtripan pa ng mga gonggong na to ang laptop ko.

"Dwayne, samahan mo nga ako." sabi ko kay Dwayne.

“Sure, bro.”

"Sama din ako paps!" sabi ni Calvin.

"Ako din Pres." dagdag naman ni Robert.

"At iiwan niyo akong mag isa dito? Let me remind you na di pa tapos ang gawain natin." biglang taas naman ng boses ni Natalie.

"Maiwan na kayo. Di ba meron kayong classes after an hour? Kaming dalawa na lang ni Dwayne." I said.

And I stood up to leave, with Dwayne trailing behind me.
