FIFTY-TWO Steel moved through the lonely corridors quickly and quietly. The plan was not to encounter or engage the mercenaries. He usually would be, after taking them down, but he had no idea of their number of countermeasures, he didn’t want to find that they had the ship rigged to blow, with nearly seven thousand unconscious passengers and staff aboard. He needed to get down to the cargo hold and find out what he was dealing with. Also, he knew that the gas was probably being pumped through, using the ships air conditioning unit which was near the engine room.
