Chapter Seventeen
The Corruption on LamperósAcha held back Teanna's hair as she hung over the side of the large vessel, heaving. The ocean reflected the darkness of the sky above. On the distant horizon was the same sight they had witnessed for nights, the unmistakable glow emanating from The Mountains of Light. Unfortunately, they did not advance towards the land, its existence was only apparent at night as this beacon seemed to mock their current predicament.
Another night had fallen, and still the eerie stillness of the winds persisted. For days they had been becalmed. The air was deadly still, and unrest had long spread amongst crew and passengers, especially since they had veered so far from their charted course when ill-weather had threatened the safety of the vessel.
