DebtsBray groaned as consciousness returned. His ice-cold hands gently rubbed his swollen neck. The injury he had sustained would have killed a human, fortunately, he had been well fed when the ruffian set upon him. He was just grateful his attacker had caused no permanent damage. His body was quick to heal, but he was not immortal. That had not been the kind of gratitude he had expected when offering his assistance to the stranger. Then again, his own intentions had been anything but pure.
