Chapter Twenty-Two A Siege of ShadowsIf there was one thing Íkelos enjoyed it was a challenge. A game of strategy and wits was the best way to spend the passage of time when there was nought to do but wait. He could feel the markers that had been placed upon his energy within his niece's body, so it appeared her condition had somehow been noticed. However, time had never been his adversary, and these small victories were nothing more than a distraction from the tedious task of having to direct his energy into keeping the tear—currently required to maintain the manifestation of the Skiá—open. The real game was still some time away. Until his influence had penetrated the chakra relating to either sight or hearing he could only speculate as to where they were, and what plans they devised.
