Chapter 14Harun woke slowly, his head pounding. A deep sense of unease pervaded him as he sat up and looked around the room. He couldn’t pinpoint anything actually wrong, yet somehow he knew something was. He felt fuzzy-headed and unfocused. He was here, in bed. That was where he was supposed to be, wasn’t it? Why was this all wrong?
The door swung open and somebody came in. Harun looked up at the familiar—was it familiar?—face of Kelwyn, his love.
“Good evening. How are you feeling?” Kelwyn came and sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at Harun with concern. Harun shook his head, trying to shake off the wrongness. This was Kelwyn…wasn’t it? Who else could it be? He groaned as the pounding headache sent a stab of pain through him.
“Not…Not well,” he said.
