Asteria D´Angelo My body went blank, as if I checked out and could not return. I wanted to come back. I heard voices and noises, I felt needles and everything in between. But I couldn´t move, I couldn’t open my eyes. I heard how Maddox and Zoe told my brother a story that didn´t line up, and my heart squeezed at the realization that my best friend, Zoe, was covering up for his cousin and not really angry about what he wanted to do to me. It was as if my soul could see everything like a movie playing on a megascreen. And when I got to the hospital, everything was a blur: a very invasive test, more needles, more meds. Voices mumbling, sobs... It was overwhelming and confusing. Then a void sucked me in. Am I dying? I am too young to die. I know I have a mission. Grandpa Maurice saw it
