Just then, the doorknob clicked. A fake smile was plastered on my face as I waited patiently for my ‘friend' but fortunately, it was my crush who got the door.
Yes, Wyatt. I blushed immediately I sighted him. This time, he was dressed in a hoodie and pants.
Although the hoodie didn’t help to hide his hot body, it still made me able to comport myself a bit.
“Hi” I smiled and waved as I looked at him, hoping to get the same reaction from him but no, he wouldn't.
“Hello” He barely answered as he walked back in.
I entered as well and rolled my eyes. We just can't tell our hearts whom to love and whom not to.
Despite his constant rudeness and arrogance to me, his love waxed stronger in my heart.
The sweet smell filled my nose even more. I smiled as I marveled at my friend's cooking. She was indeed so skilled at cooking.
“Uhm… Char is not in. She had to get something in the neighborhood. She would be back in a jiffy. Sit” He offered.
Wait, she wasn’t in? Who then was making breakfast?
“I would be back, I need to check what I am making” He smiled, and then went back to the kitchen.
Wait, did he just smile at me? He was making breakfast? Wow. He was indeed a great cook.
I smiled as I stayed in the living room, patiently waiting for Charlotte's presence. Deep within, I wasn’t.
I simply wanted to see Wyatt. I was waiting for him to come out of the kitchen, perhaps we could get talking.
Like the devil that she was, Charlotte walked in, disrupting my plan. Anger welled up in me but I faked a smile.
I couldn’t tell her to her face that I was there only because of her brother.
Seeing me, a smile formed on her face. Aside from being arrogant and rude sometimes, Charlotte was a darling.
“How have you been?!” She sounded excited as she embraced me. I nodded in response. “You must have seen my brother."
“ He cooks well.” I smiled. She nodded in response and then raised her brows.
“You haven’t even tasted the meal!” She giggled. “Oh, I know why you are here” She winked at me.
Charlotte has tried to talk me out of my feelings for her brother but I just couldn’t. It wasn’t something I could snap out from anytime or any way It was a feeling that had grown for ten years!
Realizing I could not forget him, she would not hesitate to tease me with it.
“I have no idea what you are talking about” I cleared my throat, trying hard not to smile or blush.
Then, I remembered my dream. “I came here to see you because I had the nightmare again.” I sighed.
She looked at me with l seriousness but behind that façade was mocking laughter waiting to be let out.
“I am serious Charlotte. You just would not understand! He strangled me real hard and when I woke up this morning, the marks of his hands were on my neck!” I tried to explain. “Look at it!”
Perhaps, if she saw the mark, she would believe me.
“I can't see anything” She shrugged.
“Look closer”
She shrugged again. I took the mirror that was on the table so I could check it to show her where the mark was but….
The mark was gone.
