I facepalmed as I see Ecean. She’s wearing her loose white sweatshirt and black loose pajama. Well, basically, she did not change to the dress I ask her to. What she’s wearing now are the same clothes she has last night. She just came down without putting any effort into her looks.

Gosh. I’m D.O.O.M.E.D. Anytime soon, I will be kicked out of this house.

“Good morning, my lovely niece,” Auntie said to Ecean. Ecean sat beside me. Which is, unusual since she never sat beside me since I got here.

“I’m glad to see that you and your new housemate are getting along,” Auntie said. I feel so nervous right now. Will she kick me out after breakfast?

“Hmm” Ecean hummed then she started eating.

“I bought a new phone for the two of you. I bought the phone for a couple It was on sale that’s why I bought it right away” Auntie said then she handed us the box.

“Just choose what color you want. The case and the keychain were also personalized. I bought rose gold and the other one is black,” she said. But Ecean just ignore her. I secretly patted Ecean’s legs. Hoping she would get the signal that she should say thank you to Auntie.

I feel Ecean look at me then she looks at Auntie.

“Thanks” Ecean simply said. Well, at least she notices it and she didn’t ignore it.

“You just buy me a new phone last week, what’s with the new one?” Ecean suddenly asks. Wait, what? Wow. Rich people really buy things they want even if they just bought a new one.

“Nothing. Like what I have said, it was in the sale and it was a phone for couples only. It has a unique feature because you can call freely the person you are a couple with. No need to use Wi-fi, data, or load in calling your other one. It means… you can call each other without worrying if you don’t have a load, signal, or Wi-fi,” Auntie happily said.

Is she serious? I mean, am I not going to kick out any minutes by now? I hope this is not the last gift I am going to receive from her.

“Uhh, Thank you too, Auntie. But, you don’t need to bother with buying one for me too. My phone is still fine. I can still use mine” I said.

“Nah, Use my gift starting from now on. I don’t want a no as an answer. And Ecean, you can throw your old phone now. Just use the new one, okay?” she said. Ecean didn’t answer. She continues eating her breakfast.

I continue eating mine as well. But Auntie keeps on telling stories on us about how her trip was while we are eating our breakfast. She said that she had already eaten while she was on her way that’s why she will share some stories with us.

“Did you know, the guy I met was an asshole! Like super duper asshole! I wonder how did he live a life like that? All men in the world are the same. They think highly of themselves and when trouble arrived, they will just use the ‘That’s because he’s a guy’ card. Like, ARGHH! I want to cut their p***s for it” she rants.

I wonder what happened. Ecean keeps silent while finishing her food.

“Uh, what did he do to you, Auntie?” I ask.

“It was so traumatizing and you can’t even imagine how bad I went through that guy, huhuhuhu” Auntie cried dramatically. I don’t know if it is a fake cry or if she’s really hurt because on the way she cried.

“Uh, do you want to report him, Auntie?” I ask. But I still need to ask this because what if Auntie was r***d by that guy? Or she was harassed that’s why she cried so hard like that?

“Waaahhhh Avery!!” then she bawled. Err… okay… I find this awkward. What should I do with her?

Auntie hides her face with the palm of her hands as she cries. Well, I don’t know if she really is crying or not.

“Don’t mind her. She’s just overreacting” I hear Ecean softly say. I look at her side.

I think so too, Auntie looks like she’s acting. Auntie keeps on bawling and ranting about the “trauma” she experienced on her date.

“Auntie is a retired special force. She knew taekwondo, muay Thai, karate, and judo, and she’s a sharpshooter in using guns. She never misses her shots. She knew how to take care of herself as she was also a spy before she got her early retirement. There are indeed a lot of men who tried to r**e and harassed her, but all of them failed and they ended up in a coma for years and some for months,” she said.

Wow. Auntie is no joke. I thought she was just a spoiled Aunt who will spend all of her money to waste. But, it looks like Auntie is a big person. I mean, based on her background, she is indeed a woman with a lot of connections and a powerful one.

“Eyy, that’s no fun, Ecean” Auntie said. Then she looks at us. Well, Ecean is right. You can’t see any single tears in Auntie’s eyes. She really is pretending that she’s crying. She looks normal, I mean, she doesn’t look traumatized though.

“You should have worried for me. I’m still a woman too. what if I was really r***d? What if I was really harassed? Not all the times I can protect myself, you know” Auntie said.

But Ecean didn’t even bother to look at her.

“tsh, what a coldhearted niece” Auntie whispered. But we can still hear her.

“I’m done” Ecean said then she stand up and leave us on the table.

“Where are you going?” Auntie ask.

“Room” she simply answered.

“Hey! Bring the new phone with you! how dare you leave it here. It was my gift!” she said then she throws the phone at Ecean. I thought Ecean would be hit by it in her head since Auntie throw the phone that would hit her head, but then Ecean catches it. Wow, she has a fast reflex.

Then Ecean leave now. It was only Auntie and I left. Gosh. Is this it? Will she fire me now?
