The cool evening breeze ruffled my hair as I walked alongside Lila through the lush palace gardens. Her laughter rang out, a melodic sound that always made my heart skip a beat.
"Did you see the look on Grayson's face when we pulled that prank?" Lila giggled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I thought he was going to have a heart attack!"
I chuckled, shaking my head. "You two are going to get yourselves in trouble one of these days, I swear."
Lila nudged me playfully. "Oh, come on Fredrick, live a little! Where's your sense of adventure?"
I raised an eyebrow, glancing at her sidelong. "Buried under a mountain of duties, apparently."
Her expression softened, and she reached out to give my arm a gentle squeeze. "You work too hard, you know that?"
