MAYA’S POV
I was already a week gone into my pregnancy, there was barely a baby bump yet, so far, Allan had been the most loving and caring mate one could wish for. I was so happy that things were finally going smoothly for me. That afternoon, I sat on the couch, surrounded by wedding magazines, venue brochures, and notes scribbled on sticky notes. Allan sat beside me, his eyes shining with excitement as we began planning our dream wedding. I couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and nervousness as we embarked on this new chapter in our lives.
"Okay, so we've decided on a summer wedding," Allan said, his voice filled with enthusiasm. "What's your thoughts on the venue? Do you want a beach wedding or something more traditional?"
I thought for a moment, imagining myself walking down the aisle in a beautiful white dress. The sun setting over the ocean, the sound of the waves crashing in the background, and the warmth of Allan's hand in mine, what more would one wish for?
"I think a beach wedding would be perfect," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "We could have it at sunset, and the scenery would be stunning."
Allan nodded, his face lighting up with excitement. "I was thinking the same thing. And what about the guest list? How many people do you want to invite?"
I hesitated, thinking about all the people we would need to invite. Our families, of course, and our close friends. But I didn't want it to be too big, too overwhelming.
"Maybe around 50-75 guests?" I suggested, looking at Allan for his opinion.
He nodded, making a note on his pad. "That sounds perfect. And what about the ceremony? Do you want a religious ceremony or something more secular?"
I thought for a moment, considering our similar backgrounds and belief in the moon goddess. "I think a religious ceremony would be best," I said finally. "We can include some personal vows and make it really special."
Allan smiled, his eyes shining with love. "I like that idea. And what about the reception? Do you want a sit-down dinner or a buffet?"
I thought about the food, the music, and the dancing. I wanted it to be a celebration, a party that our guests would never forget. Oh my world! This was too much all of a sudden and the fact that He was giving me the privilege of choosing every single thing showed just how much he cared and loved me. He was literally putting my heart first.
"I think a buffet would be great," I said, imagining the variety of options and the mingling of our guests. "We could have a variety of options, and people can mingle and have fun."
Allan nodded, making another note. "And what about the music? Do you want a live band or a DJ?"
I thought about the energy and excitement of a live performance. The music that would fill the air, the beat that would make us want to dance. "I think a live band would be amazing," I said, imagining the sound of the guitars and the drums.
Allan grinned, his face lighting up with excitement. "I can already imagine it. You, walking down the aisle towards me, the sun setting over the ocean, and our favorite songs playing in the background. It's going to be perfect, Maya."
I smiled, feeling my heart full of love and happiness. "It is going to be perfect, Allan. Our dream wedding, and the start of our new life together."
As we continued to plan our wedding, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this man who loved me, who supported me, and who made me feel like the luckiest person in the world. And I knew that our wedding day would be just the beginning of our happily ever after.
We spent the next few hours discussing the details, from the flowers to the cake, from the decorations to the photography. And with each decision, our excitement grew. We were planning our dream wedding, and we couldn't wait to start our new life together.
As the sun began to set, we finally finished our planning session, exhausted but exhilarated. We sat on the couch, holding hands, and imagining our future together.
"I love you, Allan," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I love you too, Maya," he replied, his voice filled with emotion. "Forever and always."
Things were going perfectly well when all of a sudden, a palace guard rushed in, his face pale and his eyes wide with urgency. He bowed low before Allan, his voice trembling as he spoke.
"Your Majesty, we have received word from our scouts. The enemy is lurking at the border, preparing to strike."
Allan's expression turned from calm to fierce in an instant. I watched him as he stood up, his eyes blazing with fury. "How many?" he demanded, his voice low and deadly.
"Thousands, Your Majesty," the guard replied, his voice shaking. "They are well-armed and well-trained. We need to act quickly to defend our kingdom."
I felt a wave of fear wash over me as I watched Allan's face harden. I knew that look, that tone. It meant he was ready for battle, and nothing would stop him from answering the call to arms.
"Allan, please," I begged, my voice shaking with worry. "Don't go. It might turn out to be way too dangerous."
But Allan didn't even glance at me. His eyes were fixed on the guard, his mind already racing with strategies and battle plans.
"Summon the council," he ordered, his voice firm. "We need to discuss our options and prepare for war."
The guard bowed and rushed out of the room, leaving me alone with Allan. I knew I had to try and stop him, but I also knew it would be no use. Allan was a warrior, and this was what he was born to do.
I stood in the courtyard, my heart racing as I watched Allan gather his men for battle. The sound of horses' hooves echoed through the castle grounds as they mounted their steeds, their armor glinting in the sunlight. I felt a sense of dread wash over me as I watched them prepare for war, my mind racing with thoughts of the dangers they would face.
"Allan, please don't go," I begged, my voice shaking with worry. "You can't just rush out there alone. It's too dangerous."
Allan turned to me, his expression unyielding. "I have to go, Maya. I can't just sit back and do nothing while our kingdom is threatened."
"But what about me?" I asked, feeling a pang of fear. "What if something happens to you? Who will protect me? What becomes of our baby that’s on the way? Please have a little mercy on me and stay back, please Allan, please.”
Allan's face softened, and he came over to me, taking my hands in his. "I'll always come back to you, Maya. I promise. And I'll make sure you're safe before I go."
I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked up at him. I knew he was trying to reassure me, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread. "Please don't go," I whispered again. “I have a really bad feeling about this. Could you please not go.”
Allan's grip on my hands tightened. "I have to, Maya. I'm the only one who can protect our kingdom."
I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes as I saw the resolve in his eyes. I knew he wasn't going to listen to me, no matter how much I begged. He was going to go out there and fight, no matter the cost. That was his duty after all.
As he turned to leave, I grabbed his arm, desperate to stop him. "Allan, please! Don't go!"
But Allan just turned to me, his eyes cold and hard. "I have to go, Maya. I can't just sit back and do nothing while our kingdom is threatened."
“Can’t you just stay behind and let the guards do the job?”
But he just shook his head, his eyes filled with a determination I had never seen before. "I have to, Maya. I'll be back soon and you don’t have to worry love, I’ll be fine. He leaned in and kissed me.
And with that, he was gone, leaving me alone with my fears and worries. I watched as he rode out of the castle gates, his men following close behind. The sound of their horses' hooves faded into the distance, leaving me with a sense of emptiness and dread.
I knew Allan was doing what he thought was right, but I couldn't help but feel that he was walking into danger, and I was powerless to stop him. The thought of losing him was unbearable, and I felt a wave of fear wash over me as I realized that I might never see him again.
As the hours ticked by, I paced back and forth in the courtyard, my mind racing with thoughts of the battle, of Allan's safety, of the unknown. I felt a sense of helplessness wash over me, knowing that I was unable to protect him from the dangers that lay ahead.
I later had no choice but to retire back to my chambers, my heart heavy with worry and fear. Allan had been gone for hours, off to battle the enemies that threatened our kingdom. I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that had settled in my heart, the feeling that I might never see him again. Tears trailed down my eyes at the unsettling thoughts.
_Oh Allan, please come back to me._
