It is starting to get dark out now, I usually let the guys sleep and I take the first watch. Sunnie fell asleep first, and I can't keep myself from watching her while she sleeps. I feel like a creep, but she has this glow about her. Even though she seen her mother and baby sister turn into zombies, been alone by herself since it all began, she still finds a way to try and laugh. She is truly amazing, though I don't think she realizes it.
Two hours in of keep watch outside the window, Sunnie starts to toss and turn and I think she may even be crying. I should leave her be, but I can't I don't like seeing her like that. I lightly touch her shoulder. " Sunnie wake up. It's just a bad dream, your safe. I promise I will protect you." Sunnie opens her eyes and looks up at me. " Sorry... I guess I was having a bad dream." said Sunnie. " Why are you sorry? You didn't do anything wrong. Is there anything you need?" I think I would do anything she asked me to and that scares me, I haven't even know. her for 24 hours and she already has me wrapped around her finger. " I am okay, Thank you for asking." said Sunnie.
I walk away and sit by the window to give her some privacy. Next thing I know I feel her walk up beside me and sits down. " I don't think I'll be able to go back to sleep, do you mind if I sit with you for a while?" said Sunnie. I swear my heart starts beating faster with just her wanting to sit with me. " Sure, you can sit with me, it would be nice to have a little company for once."
The silence wasn't bad, it was kind of nice. I feel like I have known her my whole life. I know tomorrow is going to be really hard on her, saying good bye to her family. She is tough though she can handle it and we will be here for her.
