In the wake of a Zlikovac Presidential victory, the vilification of sophonts would be bound to increase and incidents against the androids would become more extreme and violent. Sophonts wanted to live in peace alongside humans, but the Zlikovac campaign was doing everything it could to ensure that that would never happen. In the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, various diverse sections of the human population had unjustly been made the whipping-boys for all society’s ills – now a new scapegoat was being created.
Zlikovac had already succeeded in stirring a hornets’ nest of prejudice, and he’d stoked the fire by playing the job-theft card. Now he needed something to really fan the flames. He needed gasoline to throw onto the fire. He wanted to create a firestorm of fear.
