“No,” Grace’s husband said. “Then chill out. I’m sorry Sarg. Pat’s been wound up all week,” the partner said. “Johnson! Wait for me in my office. Jim… I think our business here is complete. Let me escort you out of the precinct.” I left the police station quietly, my teeth grinding and my stomach churning inside. “I don’t know what that was all about back there Jim. I’d like to apologize on behalf of the 47th Precinct. Are you alright, son?” the Sergeant asked. I nodded and walked away from the police station, for good.
