I woke up with a start as the screams from my nightmare resounded in my ears. I stayed still for a moment as they faded and clutched at my pillow until my hands stopped shaking. I was home. I was safe. Jonah was asleep in a cot right next to me. I knew I shouldn’t have, but I reached over to the rollaway bed. Maybe if I could feel him, then I would be convinced that everything was going to be alright. Except, he wasn’t there. I turned on the lights to see that the rollaway bed was indeed empty. Where on earth could he have gone? It wasn’t the bathroom. The door was still open, and the lights were off. I groaned softly and fell back on the mattress as I remembered nearly kissing Jonah. I couldn"t say what had come over me. I acted before I thought about what I was doing or the effects
