The world went horribly wrong when Eva head-butted Jonah in the face. He staggered back, stunned that she would do such a thing. He felt the blood trickling down, and it hurt like two kinds of hell.
“Eva, what—?”
But Eva changed. She wasn’t there. Her frame lengthened, her skin became more translucent, and her hair shortened to her skull and became jet-black. Eva wasn’t even a woman anymore.
It was Hades.
“You will lead my armies, boy,” the god of the Underworld rasped. “Resisting me will come to naught.”
The anger that Jonah fought so hard to quell ever since he’d bashed Eva’s cutout overtook him so intensely that his skin warmed. “You want to play, b***h? Let’s go.”
