THE SHOCK

1131 Words
Anxin wandered aimlessly through the empty halls of her father's mansion, feeling lost and alone. The news of her father's will and her uncle's inheritance still lingered in her mind like a bad dream. She couldn't shake off the feeling of betrayal and hurt that had settled in her heart. As she walked, Anxin's eyes wandered to the familiar portraits on the walls, the expensive artwork, and the lavish furnishings. Everything reminded her of her father, and the memories they had shared together. She felt a lump form in her throat as she realized that none of this belonged to her anymore. Anxin's mind was a jumble of emotions - shock, anger, sadness, and betrayal. She couldn't understand why her father had left everything to her uncle. What had she done wrong? Hadn't she been a good daughter? She thought back to all the times she had spent with her father, the laughter they had shared, the adventures they had gone on. Anxin had always felt like she was her father's favorite, that he loved her more than anyone else in the world. But now, it seemed like that had all been a lie. As she turned a corner, Anxin caught sight of herself in a mirror. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying, her skin pale and clammy. She looked like a shadow of her former self, a person she no longer recognized. Anxin felt a wave of despair wash over her. What was she going to do now? She had no money, no home, and no family to turn to. She was completely alone in the world. She thought about reaching out to her friends, but what could they do to help her? They had their own lives, their own problems. Anxin didn't want to burden them with hers. As the hours ticked by, Anxin found herself withdrawing further and further into herself. She stopped answering phone calls, stopped responding to messages. She just didn't know how to face the world anymore. The memories of her father flooded her mind, memories of happy times, of laughter and adventure. Anxin remembered the way her father used to take her on long drives through the countryside, the way he used to tell her stories about his childhood. She remembered the way he used to make her feel, like she was the most important person in the world. Anxin felt a pang of sadness as she realized that she would never experience those feelings again. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the mansion, Anxin felt a sense of uncertainty wash over her. What was she going to do now? Where was she going to go? She thought about leaving Ashwood, about starting a new life somewhere else. But where would she go? What would she do? Anxin felt like she was stuck in a nightmare, a never-ending cycle of fear and uncertainty. She didn't know how to escape, how to wake up from this terrible dream. As the darkness closed in around her, Anxin realized that she had to take action. She couldn't just sit around feeling sorry for herself. She had to make a plan, had to figure out what she was going to do next. With a newfound sense of determination, Anxin stood up, her eyes scanning the room for answers. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. As she began to pace back and forth across the room, Anxin's mind started to racing with questions. Why had her father left everything to her uncle? What had she done wrong? Was there something she could have done to change his mind? The questions swirled around in her head, making her feel dizzy and disoriented. Anxin stumbled and fell onto the couch, burying her face in her hands. She felt like she was losing her grip on reality, like everything was spinning out of control. Anxin didn't know how much more she could take. As the tears streamed down her face, Anxin realized that she needed to talk to someone. She couldn't keep all these emotions bottled up inside. She needed to find a way to release them, to let go of all the pain and anger. With a newfound sense of determination, Anxin stood up and walked over to the phone. She dialed a number, waiting for someone to answer. "Hello?" a voice said on the other end of the line. Anxin took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. "Mrs. Jenkins, it's me, Anxin," she said, her voice shaking. "I need to talk to you." There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then Mrs. Jenkins spoke up. "Anxin, dear, I'm so sorry about your father. What's going on? You sound upset." Anxin took another deep breath, trying to calm herself down. "It's just...I don't understand why my father left everything to my uncle," Anxin said, her voice cracking with emotion. "I thought he loved me, but I guess I was wrong." Mrs. Jenkins's voice was warm and comforting on the other end of the line. "Anxin, dear, your father did love you. I'm sure of it. But sometimes, people do things that don't make sense to us. We have to trust that they know what they're doing." Anxin felt a surge of anger at Mrs. Jenkins's words. How could she say that? Didn't she understand how Anxin was feeling? "But why did he leave everything to my uncle?" Anxin demanded, her voice rising. "What did I do wrong?" Mrs. Jenkins sighed on the other end of the line. "Anxin, dear, I don't know why your father made the choices he did. But I do know that you didn't do anything wrong. You're a wonderful person, and you deserve to be happy." Anxin felt a lump form in her throat as she listened to Mrs. Jenkins's words. She wanted to believe her, but it was hard. As she talked to Mrs. Jenkins, Anxin felt some of the tension in her body begin to ease. She realized that she wasn't alone, that there were people who cared about her and wanted to help. After talking to Mrs. Jenkins for a while, Anxin felt a sense of calm wash over her. She knew that she still had a long way to go, but she also knew that she could face whatever challenges lay ahead. With a newfound sense of determination, Anxin hung up the phone and stood up. She knew that she had to take action, to make a plan for her future. As she walked over to the window, Anxin felt a sense of resolve wash over her. She was going to get through this, no matter what it took.
