“HELMUT, WHY DID the reverend let you talk him into this picnic today? We have two grand events next week. First, the Schuetzen Bund Parade on Monday. Everyone will be at the reviewing stand, including the mayor, and then the annual St. Mark’s outing is also next week. Too much all at once. Why do you spend your time with this? Don’t you understand I need you in the shop? The Wagners are butchers, not preachers. Stop all of this foolishness and cancel this picnic if the turnout is poor—you’re in charge, so be the boss!”
