Not Afraid No More
THE WATER BECAME heavier by the minute as the relentless, pulsing waves continued to push Bodee down. Each climb back to the surface became increasingly difficult. “Over here. Over here,” he cried as he extended his left arm, which caused him to sink, yet again. Finally, someone in the small boat spotted him and called out, “Hang on.”
He tried to swim toward the sound of the voice and noted the image of the Republic in the distance. Got to keep going. Must find the strength. People are counting on me. A massive wave engulfed him and he tried to stay afloat, but with arms like rubber, he sank deeper. Need to be strong. Please God, give me one more chance. An oar pierced through the water and a man screamed, “Grab on!”
