AFTER WAKING UP so early with his vivid dream, Bodee had time to kill so he took a long walk toward Kleindeutschland before heading over to the docks. He noted the German language evident in most storefronts as he walked by the intersection of Houston Street and Avenue D. This is Little Germany. The piece of paper with Helmut’s address read, 222 Avenue B. Must be right down this block. I wonder what he’ll make of my dream?
Bodee glanced at his pocket watch—he still had time to spare and continued his leisurely stroll. 222 Avenue B. Helmut and his father must live above their business, Wagner Meats.
