41 “I’ll be grateful to you for as long as I live,” Jaime whispered, gently squeezing the hand that took hold of her arm at the great oaken door of the king’s chamber. Relying on Frances’s physical support now, Jaime felt as if each step she took was made with the weight of hundred tons dragging at her feet.
