Chapter 1

Ruby had endured more pain and suffering in her young life of 16 years than anyone should ever have to bear. The tragic loss of her parents in an airplane accident left her hopeless when she was just 6 years which led her to her aunt house and was left her in the mercy of her cruel aunt, who treated her like a servant, and her spoiled cousin, who tormented her at every turn. But the worst abuse came from her uncle, who took advantage of her innocence and violated her in the most unspeakable way when she was just 12 years.

Despite the darkness that clouded her days, Ruby never lost hope. She buried herself in her studies, her only escape from the nightmare of her reality. And when she finally won a scholarship to study abroad, it seemed like a glimmer of light shining through the darkness. With a heavy heart and a soul weighed down by sorrow, she left her painful past behind hoping for the best, filled with confidence and set out for a new beginning in a foreign land.

The moment Ruby set foot in her new home, she felt a sense of peace wash over her,but the peace was like a silent wave before the storm .
