CHAPTER ONE

1010 Words
Louve ran through the woods as fast as she could. Adrenaline coursed through her veins. Sweat covered the nape of her neck. She ran so fast that she thought she’d explode. She could hear her heart beat faster as her paws leapt through the bushes. Even though she was tired, she had to keep running, because her life depended on it. She didn’t know where she was going but she knew she had to keep going if she wanted to survive. Hot on her tails were two Betas, Derek and Belvine. The were chasing after her and they were much stronger and faster. They were instructed to kill her and they knew better than to disobey the orders of the Alpha. Louve could feel her wolf getting weaker, her heart couldn’t hold it anymore, but at the same time she didn’t want to die or beg for mercy. No she wanted to run, to flee away from the pack she once called home, ‘The Crystal Pack.’ The Crystal Pack was once ruled by Louve’s parents, Alpha Adolf and Luna Mira. They were loved by all the pack members and led the wolf pack to victories. They were not the strongest pack in the lands but at least they were feared by most. Louve loved her family and her pack but everything changed when her parents died. Everyone called it an accident, but Louve knew deep down that her parents were murdered by her uncle, Kiger. Kiger always wanted to be the Alpha, he hated being under his brother and obeying his orders. So one night, he drugged their food and killed Louve’s parents. Their death was greatly mourned by all the members of the pack, even other werewolves Pack were devastated. Alpha Adolf and Luna Mira were kind and inviting. After their death, Kiger became the Alpha, he used the excuse that Louve wasn’t fit to rule because of her heart condition. She was born with congestive heart failure. A disease that made her heart muscles weak and unable to pump enough blood. The disease not only affected her human form but also her wolf. Her wolf was weak, haggard looking and thin. Kiger ruled the pack with an iron hand, he never shared the spoils they got equally and threatened the kill anyone who defiled his authority. The members of the pack feared him and some even left as a result of his harsh treatment. A year passed after her parents death, it was hard for Louve to keep on living but she did. She had been reduced to the lowest rank and was hardly taken care of. In fact it was as if no one knew she existed. She didn’t mind, she had been a loner at a young age and loved being on her own. She wasn’t a social person and loved keeping to herself. The young werewolf swore that one day, she would take back her pack from her uncle, but unfortunately her uncle had other plans for her. Evil plans. Kiger, knew that as far as Louve was alive he wasn’t the real leader. The people loved his brother Alpha Adolf and if Louve should ever get better, they might make her the Luna. He decided that he had to kill her. That was the only solution. If she was dead, he won’t have to worry about his position as the leader of the pack. That night, Louve decided to go to bed early. She had spent the day taking care of the younger cubs and gathering food for the pack. She was hardly given any food no matter how hard she worked and would some days go hungry. Some days, Louve thought of leaving the pack, and wandering in the forest. Maybe she might go to another pack, one that was loyal to her parents. But at the same time, she had a duty to her pack and as the late Alpha’s daughter migrating wasn’t that easy. She was about to sleep when she heard voices outside her room. She quickly rose from her bed as the noise they made disturbed her. “I want Louve dead,” she heard a raspy voice say. It was her uncle’s voice. Louve moved closer and peeped through the hole in her bedroom door. She saw her uncle talking to Derek and Belvine. Derek and Belvine were Beta twins, they were Kiger most trusted wolves and always helped him carry out his dirty works. “But why?” Derek asked, crossing his arms, he didn’t care about Louve. But he just didn’t find it reasonable. “If the other park members found out that you killed the daughter of your brother, the Alpha they loved, they might turn against you,” he added, shifting his weight between his feet’s. “Did I ask for your opinion,” Kirgr growled in anger. “How dare a Beta, question the Alpha?” He slapped Derek hard across his face. Leaving a slight bruise on the Beta cheek. Derek stood there shock as he massaged his cheek. He couldn’t say anything. He dare not speak against the Alpha. Kiger could kill him an instant, if he wanted. After Alpha Adolf, Kiger was the strongest in the pack and now that he was the Alpha, he was more ruthless. “Forgive my younger brother,” Belvine pleaded, standing in between Kirgr and her brother. She was a red-haired wolf and head of the warrior wolves. She was strong, skilled in battle and fierce. “We will do as you say,” Belvine said, bowing her head. As the word left her mouth, Louve quietly closed the door and sprinted towards the window. She could already hear their footsteps coming up the stairs. The twins were coming for her and if she stayed any longer she would be died. She broke the window glass, jumped out and stumbled down the house before transforming into her wolf form and running into the woods. She was no longer safe in her own home.
